+ 2 What is life like on TRT

ad

I'm wondering what life is like for you guys on TRT, and what kind of new challenges and health issues came up after making the move to TRT.
Did TRT make you erectile function better, worse, or unchanged?
Is blood pressure an issue?
Is libido better or worse, or unchanged?
What about your mental health, things like depression and anxiety?
What happens to your nuts after years on TRT? do they still hang, only smaller?

Do you wish you had never made the move to TRT, and would have prefered to just ride it out with low T?

I'm getting close to 50, and will probably be facing this choice myself if I continue to use AAS.

Balls.....yeah that's the crappy part. Pretty sure they are half the size as they were 20 years ago. Embarrassing when it gets cold and the odd thing is one may shoot up inside me when I get Into an intense workout. But ATLEAST I'm married and she knows why.

But.....I always feel great. Strong. Never had a blood pressure issue and cholesterol has always been good until last years blood draw. HDL was only 20

So hopefully that's reveresed. Find out in a month or so.

Wish I woulda waited longwr before doing gear but, I don't mind pinning myself every week.

What's really nice is having pellets inserted into your hip. Gets you to about the 1200ng/dl mark but you (or I) started feeling that number drop 3.5-4 months in pretty drastically. And $600 every 4 or 5 moths just for those numbers is not cost effective. No pinning is nice. But not that nice

Going into (doctor trt) was one of the best dicision I ever made. Not only did they help me come off anti depressants but saved my quality of life with my wife and kids.

I had erection, sex drive problems that went away after a month after starting trt. I have healthy sex and a high sex drive.

At the first few months I had blood pressure issues while trying to dail in my dose. I had estrogen issues for a few month until my adex dose was dailed in.

I don't regret it one bit. A shoot a week is worth it. I'm not recommending for healthy people to go into trt. But if your shut down it helps.

The only issue I have is my hematocrit and RBC are always at the high end. I donate blood as much as they allow to lower those number. But other then the blood donations it has not negatively affected my life.

Lilbear, what is your dose for test and adex? I have been cruising due to perm 170-220 test. but am having estro issues. I am about to try .75 adex 2 x week to start and see how that does.

TRT -Dr prescribed TRT can be a pain in the ass to get established basically trial and error until the correct dose is locked in. can take about a year. In which time (if you're doing it right) no cycling. and periods of very low test levels.

Has no effect on ED but does increase your labido.

I found myself more proactive, less inclined to put off small projects around the house and at work. more motivated to do extracurricular activities at the end of the work day (and weekend for that matter), less likely to fall asleep on the couch watching TV. Less introverted.

What balls? I haven't seen those since I've been married. Well, maybe a little smaller but I can't really remember what size they were. I should have taken a picture to keep in my wallet.

I did everything in my power to increase my levels naturally through diet and exercise. It worked for a while kept me within (low) normal range for a few extra years. I do not regret making the move to TRT. I'm glad I waited until the very end though.

IM 32 and have been on TRT for the past 10 years. Libido comes and goes, mostly it's just I don't want to. Never had any ED problems. BP is fine as long as I keep up cardio. Currently on 160mg a week of test cyp. I'm so fucking sick of pinning!! It's slightly better when I blast cause I get excited about new compounds and new routine. Wouldn't change it for the world though. I was diagnosed with secondary hypogonadism and my test levels were in the double digit range...you heard that right. I was miserable, lethargic, depressed, lost all the hair on my body, lost a lot of muscle and gained fat. I was sick all the time, memory was terrible. I had never cycled before that. It sucks to be on medication the rest of your life, and being on TRT is nowhere near as smooth as when your body is natural balance.

For the most part, it's been a win, but there have been a few issues.
My BP skyrocketed. I was only on 180 mg a week and it was sky high. I tried every natural remedy, but nothing worked. Went to the doctor and got on a very low dose of BP meds and I'm fine now.
Also, my estro went sky high. I was never a converter when I was younger, but it changed when I got older. I have to have an AI on my TRT.
Never had ED, but my sex drive had greatly increased.
My mood is more stable and more positive since I've been on TRT.
My nuts shrunk greatly, but I cycle HCG and that restores them. I also like how I feel on HCG.
The big downside is all the pinning. It gets very old, very quickly. I have gone to Test-u, which is less frequent pinning and that has helped. Smaller pins help, but it's more of having to always pin that is the killer for me. I've accepted it, but I still don't like it. Looks like others feel that way as well.
As far as do I wish I would of never started: No, I'm good with it. I feel that the positives outweigh the negatives.
Also, I rarely (almost never) blast. I like how my body is now and blasting doesn't fit my goals or my health objectives. I try to get the most out of what I'm taking and make slow, steady gains. That doesn't mean that I'll never blast, but it's very rare.
Happy to help if you've got any questions.

Contrary to popular belief, you never get used to pinning every week, I struggle every week andI've been a trt patient for almost 3 years now. Because I do not abuse it i.e 1gram of test or more during a cycle I have been fairly healthy. Blood pressure is high but I'm short and its just below hypertension. Regular checkups and bloodwork shows normal for my age (43 this year). I honesy feel its a double edge sword. Without it I would feel shitty, be overweight, and depressed. With it I feel like I'm in my 20's again. But it always takes me about 2 to 3 minutes to pin because you get fkn sick of it after doing it for so long. My libido is back to normal as it was slowly dropping, I never had a problem getting it up, I just had no desire to do so. And yes, my balls are gone, whenits really cold it looks like I cut them off. Every few months my doc puts me on hcg and they plump a little but I am not having kids anymore so he only prescribes it when I ask him to. They still hang, just not like a pendulum anymore.

I'm assuming you still use a big ass invasive 23-25g 1-1.5 in pin? Stop , use a 1/2 30g slin pin you can put it anywhere except glutes. 1/2 to tricep is nothing. I would get real fuckijg sick of using one of those big ass needles every week for the rest of my life. Or experiment with very small subq shots more frequently. If your dose is small like 3/4ml ew or even 1 you could do .33mls 2-3 times a week. Simple.

Ludwig's picture

You do test injections sub-q?

IrishMack's picture

I use 27g 1 inch. I think you may have missed the point a little. You get tired of stabbing yourself every week with a needle, its not the size, diameter, length. Its the needle. Subq means more frequent injections which if Im already tired of once a week or even twice, that would be worse. Thanks for the input though, appreciated.

irongame427's picture

For me it's not that I get sick of the shots, it's the deep intra muscular shots I hate. 30g 1/2 is noting I even use it for my quads. Sub q is a breeze I think I'm doijg something like 7-10 sub q shots a day it doesn't phase me. But I really hate putting a huge 1-1.5 inch needle rep into my muscle. That gets old real quick.

IrishMack's picture

Come talk to me when you hit a nerve multiple times and then see if you don't hesitate everytime you pin. At least once a month I smack a nerve ending and jump out of my skin. I rotate 8 sites too. make me so damn paranoid that I might tattoo a circle everywhere I hit a nerve ending.

irongame427's picture

Oh i have man i do it regularly in my quads i seem to almost always hit one in there with deep needles . Thats why i use the little 1/2 needle. I seem to have way less problems with that. Im agreeing with you bro pinning sucks balls. But pinning a 30g 1/2 inch anywhere is nothing compared to a deep shot with 1.5 in the glute or a 1inch to the quad or any 1inch shot anywhere. Deep shots in general just suck. The only place i cant use the 1/2 is my glutes. The 1/2 inch slin pin is a game changer brotha give it a shot i promise it'll make you're life much easier.

IrishMack's picture

1 inch in my quads and delts because they are lean, glute gets the 1 1/2 incher. My other issue is my muscles are so dense when I pin with the smaller needle like a 30 it bends so I'm stuck with 27 or lower. My wife won't pin me at all because she is scared of needles and passes out, last thing I want is her to pass out in the middle of an injection.

irongame427's picture

Bro I'm scared shitless of other people pinning me total needle phobia lol. I let my Roomate do it like twice and I start sweating my heart starts racing. Same shit happens at the doctors I hate it. But I have no problem doijg it myself.

I want that on video.

yeah right hehe when we get there you will see why I dont trust her

Im going to be 35 this year and been on for two years now.
I feel ten times better.
sex drive is higher.
nuts do shrink.
I've always had anxiety before trt.
my bp runs low unless I add other compounds then I'm up.
I don't regret it.
