IS THE NFL SCANDAL GETTING TO YOU?

ad

First off... to call the situation in which the NFL finds itself a "scandal" is sort of like saying a mouse stuck in a glue trap is in a sticky situation. I mean, no matter how you look at it, somebodys getting fucked, and I don't mean that in a Jenna James-sort-of-way.
Look, I understand that there are guys beating their wives and girlfriends, and they should be buried under the prison when they do it good ( I mean bad... I mean.... nevermind). But we arent going to fix the problem with domestic violence until we fix the problem with "violence" in general. And the NFL can't do that----that's going to take a societal change of biblical proportions, and that's not going to happen quick. We positviely TRAIN our children from the time they flip on Cartoon Network how to be violent, and if girls could bench what guys bench, we'd be getting our asses kicked too. It's bad enough that frying pans are often involved.
But one quick question::: If the NFL (an employer) is going to permanently ban Rice (the guy.... not that shit you eat with your chicken), then should they ban ALL players who are accused of domestic violence? And by all, that means EVERY active player...no matter how old the accusation. But lets not stop there. Should we also ban every man from his job (i.e. banks, political office, police officers, NBA, NHL, Taco Bell, car washes, .....???? Where are you going to stop?
My point is....if you want to come down hard on domestic violence, then do it through the chanels of the law. Find this guy guilty, send him to the joint and then fire his ass when he cant show for work. But if youre going to fire Ray Rice, then fire CEOs, fast food workers, ....EVERYBODY. But do it with due process...which in this case should be easy to do since we have a tape that would make Mayweather blush.

Thanks for your input guys!

The video of him dragging his wife around like a dead animal is pretty disturbing.

I absolutely agree....they need to slam his ass.

If you're gonna allow back murderers, dog a users, guys who shoot themselves then a guy who hasn't even been convicted yet should be allows back as well. For Christ sakes the giants let LT walk out on the field after his rape scandal. It's a joke. In reality ray rice is worth millions to teams because of his skill and he will be back.

Oh and the AP incident I agree got out of hand but from my experience the kids in my generation weren't hit enough so as long as they're not extremely injuring their children a little physical discipline isn't the end of the world

Brother that poor boy looked like Jesus from that Mel Gibson movie, Passion of the Christ, after the romans were done whipping him. His legs were all cut up from a tree branch used to spank him and then the son of a B&*() said that he also whipped him in the scrotum. I swear to God if I saw anyone beat on their kid like that I'd gladly go to Jail. That piece of crap abused that kid something awful.

I agree that a little bit of spanking is good but not with a freaking tree branch. Jesus. And your use of the "not extremely injuring" your kid is absolutely wrong. So I guess as long as I can gage how much is "a little" and how much is extreme it's ok. Maybe 2 bruises is good but not 3? How about you DON'T injure your kid. PERIOD.

I have not seen the pics, if it was that bad then yea, no need to wait for a trial.

TED's picture

I never said AP didn't extremely injure his kid. Because he did. And I don't think that is acceptable but I'm sorry my parents got the belt and I got backhanded and I came out a lot better than my entitled friends who weren't so much as spanked because it was frowned upon

And sorry extremely injure means more than a red ass or cheek to me

Kids look up to these morons and should be fired. PERIOD. Any slap on the wrist will only embolden the rest of the momma beaters to follow suit. I for one am glad the dude is getting it so rough. The 1-2 knockout punch was absolutely not necessary especially when you outweigh the woman by over a hundred pounds. As for the child abuser, he deserves to go too. This is a multi-million dollar sport and entirely in the publics eye. Its different than working for Uncle Guido at the corner pizza joint. No one could care less whether the pizza maker gets fired. Plus there are plenty of companies out there that would fire you for being found guilty of being a wife beater. No one talked about firing that dude until the tape showed him giving his girlfriend a knuckle sandwich. There was absolutely NO justification for what he did. He should have taken the high road like Jay Z did with Beyonce's sister.

Those are good points.....although it's ironic that ratings are at an all-time high this season.
I honestly believe that thay could have half the league on video gang-raping a bus full of handicaped children and NFL fas would still show up for games in droves....smh.

NFL fans would still show up for games in droves....

Wearing the jersey's of those who just committed the crime... smh....

This just show how the NFL has been covering shit up for years. It's a big business, and they don't want their brand to be tarnished. The only reason they are doing anything is because some of their major sponsors said they couldn't sponsor an organization that lets domestic violence go unpunished, because those sponsors don't want to be associated with that either. So like everything else, it's all about the mighty dollar. As for the players when you are under contract being paid millions of dollars and in the public eye you are going to be held to a higher standard and view differently, both good and bad like it or not.

manbearpig's picture

Back in the day I'm sure many more football players had domestic violence issues. Media is blowing shit up, and interfering with people's judgement. I mean look at Jameis Winston's situation. He gets punished. Media cries they want more punishment. And they get what they want. I wouldn't care if the team sat him the rest of the season as long as tht decision was made privately without any outside influence... This shit isn't even football. Espn needs to quit wasting time on it.

Pale's picture

As much as I detest wife beaters I also agree with you. It is not up to employers to enforce the law. I could see fining him for giving the team a black eye (pun intended) but to fire a guy over it sets a bad precedent. Same goes with Adrian Peterson, he has not even been through the courts yet.

I agree
