+ 2 Everybody Needs A Hero

ad

In Monroe, Louisiana on May, 13th of 1964 a man, let me reword that a Legend was born, forged of iron and unleashed upon us mortals as The Unbelievable Ronnie Coleman. Standing only 5'11" at an off season weight of 330 lbs this monster; benching pressing over 500 lbs, deadlifting 800 lbs, squating 800 lbs, and T-bar rowing 600 lbs has greatly impacted my life and countless people simalar to myself. You don't have to be a bodybuilder to appericate Ronnie Coleman, you can see his hard work and devotion leak out of his pores, a Godly man, humble yet the king of bodybuilding. On stage Ronnie weighs in at 295 lbs give or take a few pounds. One of the sports most dominating, respected athelte. I truely believe Big Ron took bodybuilding to a whole new level. For eights years he held the title as Mr. Olympia leaving all his competetor to fight for second. The only other bodybuilder to posses this title for the same amount of time is Lee Haney. Along with Ronnies 8 time Mr. Olymipa title he also possess the rocord for the most wins as an IFBB professional with a total of 26. When you measure in at 5'11", 295 lbs and only having a 36" waist at 4-5% body fat, it safe to say you're THE BEAST. I remember the first time I heard Ronnie yell "Yeah Buddy, Light Weight" from that moment I knew that was going to be me. I envisioned myself as he was when I walked into the gym, I placed high expectation on myself, not unrealistic but really high. I found out, if people aren't laughting at your goals there simply not high enought. Listening to his words and watching his videos really help inspire me, it helped me push through my darkest moments and it began to shape and mold my mentality. Everybody needs somebody to look up too, some source of motivation. It's amazing what one person can say or do and how that will motivate you to do the same or more. Ronnie Coleman has really been my saving grace and if you reading this Ronnie, thank you for everything brother, you truly don't know how lucky the bodybuilding world is to have a person like yourself.

Here's a list of Ronnie's bodybuilding titles...

I was always a fan of Lee priest as a kid, the way he was able to pack so much size on a small frame is astonishing. Plus we are basically the same height, so it gave me something to visually see and compare what I could possibly look like.

tonytulo's picture

definitely a big fan of lee's . guy kept it real and cared a lot about others in the sport and how more often then not politics didn't rule in their favor , or how they dumped soo much money into it with very little recognition or reward due to politics etc . not just npc guys , pros who didn't place in the top 8. he's also doing my contest prep, figured why not I talk to him often and he knows more than I do and has the track record to prove it, so instead of doing it myself like I have in the past im going to see what the man has to offer.

cdyrdes's picture

Big fan of lee priest myself and tom platz too

Champion Of The Mind's picture

Tom Platz has the greatest legs in bodybuilding period.. you can't argue that. Also I never liked Lee the bodybuilder, I like Lee the person... reminds me of me.

cdyrdes's picture

Yeah thats why I like platz...his hamstrings were just retarded and lee the person I like straight to the point and simple. I like the video when he talks about cutting weight. "Wanna loose more weight do more cardio wanna lose less weight do less cardio its that simple" -lee preist

Champion Of The Mind's picture

LOL

"Wanna loose more weight do more cardio wanna lose less weight do less cardio its that simple" -lee preist

It's science Biggrin

Roid Noid's picture

LOL I had to watch it just to see what happens!

Engineereddisaster's picture

Hell yeah. You should watch the movie on Netfix. That movie pretty much changed my life.

vhman's picture

This is 2014. There's no place for tractor on tractor violence.

Dickkhead's picture

I gotta be honest. That clip was deeply offensive. A real midwestern regional slur. You stinking city slickers think that's funny. Really?

Engineereddisaster's picture

I'm sorry if you were offended. I'm offended that you would assume that I am a city slicker. I learned to drive a tractor at the age of four. I have lived the life and brother it sure ain't an easy one. I once watched a man get his weiner ripped off by a PTO. A boy shouldn't have to see that kind of stuff.

vhman's picture

It was actually filmed near where I grew up and I knew several extras in the film. It's pretty accurate. That being said, That tractor crap just doesn't play today. A true stain on our society.

Engineereddisaster's picture

Lol, vhman has personally danced his ass off in the roller mills. That's the hardcore life he lived. Respect brother. L-town is some hardcore shit bro.

vhman's picture

If you only knew the half of it! Nobody's going to stop my dance!
The only downside of growing up there was trying to steer clear of all the gangs. The Wonderbread gang were the bloodiest. Wonderbread Nation!

Engineereddisaster's picture

Shit bro. I feel ya. I can't even pass a tractor without getting flashbacks of bucking small bales all day. You just gotta keep on keepin' on.

Pale's picture

Ah, bailing hay. My first experience with child exploitation, lol. "hey kids you want to make some money bailing hay", "sure we do".. So we would make about 10 bucks for an entire day roasting in the sun only to be capped off sacking bails in the attic of a hot ass barn.. Memories.. Smile

Engineereddisaster's picture

Lol . I swear we fell off the same truck.

Pale's picture

LOL, I think we fell off the same truck alright, right on our heads. And it was a diesel!!

Engineereddisaster's picture

It's all about awareness V.
Until people start waking up to the realities of tractor on tractor violence there will never be change.

vhman's picture

Thanks for that (as a tear wells up in the corner of my eye). That's all I wanted to hear....

Engineereddisaster's picture

Brother. I know all too well the consequences of tractor on tractor violence. About 10 years ago I sat with my John Deere 4050 as she took her last breath. Why do we keep doing this to our tractors! This senseless destruction has got to stop!

Roid Noid's picture

yep i had all the wrong hero"s! Ronnie would have never made the list being that he was a cop!

Catalyst's picture

Are your cops over there that bad? The uk police are generally ok. There's a few of them train in my gym, decent enough lads.

cdyrdes's picture

The worst! Once you strap that badge on them they believe they're invincible and will throw you in the klink for the smallest thing. Especially the ones on traffic duty, write tickets for everything. Its a big money racket

Pale's picture

There are still a lot of good ones, but the bad are out there in equal numbers. Some are also slow to realize technology is just as stacked against them as the criminals. Everyone damn near in the country is walking around with a video camera in their pocket.

cdyrdes's picture

Yeah I wanted to put that in, there are still some who actually "protect and serve" but it seems like they're less and less of them. In my town at least once a month they have traps set up for seat belts, redlights, speeding and so on. I know keeping the traffic flowing for safety is a good thing but instead of having 10-15 units writing tickets I just think they could do some actual police work and find the real criminals.

Dickkhead's picture

Down here in the swamp, this is retirement land and retirement driving and retirement voting. If the county sheriff or the local police chief start setting up traffic traps they will be out of a job. LOL

cdyrdes's picture

Lmao! Sounds like the swamp I live in too

Pale's picture

Ain't that the truth..

tonytulo's picture

That made me laugh ,get out of my head noid.

Champion Of The Mind's picture

At first when I seen that I was taken back myself, but then as i got older bro.. I realize that half of them are good people doing a job, so I don't hold that against them anymore... I still however don't like what they stand for... Needless to say bro, cop or no cop he was a great bodybuilder.

Engineereddisaster's picture

Lol, as you get older. I think that when you pass 30 in a few years you'll see that it's closer to 99% of all cops are shitheads.

Champion Of The Mind's picture

LMAO, I'm going to have to take your word bro Biggrin I know two that are cool.. Ronnie and my ex's mom... yeah my ex's mom was a cop but she never held that over my head bro.

Engineereddisaster's picture

Chick cops don't really count because they have boobies. This in itself balances out the cool to shithead ratio. So.. Now we are back to Ronnie. The only cool cop ever. Which in reality..he was closer to being a mall cop than an actual officer so he really wasn't a cop..now that whittles it down to zero cool cops. Smile

Champion Of The Mind's picture

LMFAO, now I can agree with that.... Biggrin
