ectomorph-help with carbs

I'm an ectomorph through and through and struggle to gain muscle....kinda new to lifting and just incorporated an exercise program specifically for ectormorphs lowering sets and adding weight. Just got some powdered maltodextrin to supplement my carb intake and was wondering would it be safe or smart to sip on it all day and how many grams per day would be best.....any help is much appreciated.

I wouldn't drink that shit all day. The only time its beneficial and almost necessary is post workout. It will replenish your glycogen stores that were depleted during training, and it will also spike your insulin which will then help shutte protein and amino acids into the muscles. I would try to stick to whole foods through the day. Or what I do is grind up a cup of oatmeal into powder and mix it in with a protein shake a few times a day. Its an extra 52g of carbs and its not filling at all when you drink it.
Thanks for the help guys. I ended up just using the malto during workout. Thanks for the link to vikings shake bro. I've been using it for a few days now....its like drinking an entire meal! Still up in the air about the workout split cause I'm in pct right now. I've went back to basics with deadlift, squat, bench, military press and chin ups. Just a few isolation moves but not much. I'm just tryin to get in get it done and get the fk out.
maltodextrin is bad... too much and it produces fat gain... i suggest slipping on BCAA all day and just eat a banana or two if you're feeling sluggish, good carbs...
Ectomorph do better with more frequency of training. Heavier sets is fine, just be sure your getting a big pump before any lower rep sets.
Squat twice week for sure. Eat real food, maltodextrin will do nothing but spike your blood sugar and cut up your arteries.
Enter the realm of 6 egg omelets(use pasture eggs/omega 3), coconut oil, grass fed butter, Grass fed beef patties 2-3x a day, and raw milk. Lots of raw milk.
X2. Im an ecto and I made much better gains hitting everything twice a week in the beginning. Everytime I went back to once a week I stopped progressing.
I agree with your frequency of training statement. But not just for ectomorphs, it applies to everyone.
Anybody benefits from a two a day training style for a short period of time. I just read an article where subjects who performed two 30 minute training sessions on their weight training days saw massive improvement in muscle size and strength as opposed to the subjects who were training a single 1 hour session on their training days.
try it. not everything you read is true...... My experience is I do better on 1 session a day 1hr 30min. contrary to all the "articles" out there there is no cookie cutter. guys in the 70's trained 6 days a week 2-4 hours a day!! I guess they were doing it all wrong
They were doing it wrong lol some people will grow regardless and drugs were heavily involved.
What your talking about is the "principle of individual differences" which basically states that science has proven the most efficient way to do things when it comes to physical fitness but we must take into account slight differences due to genetics. My statement stands.
