+ 1 Can you just drink everything shakes to gain size?

ad

A theory of mine, can you just drink everything to gain size? Ie imagine having 8 egg whites, oatmeal, and nuts for healthy fats. Could you just put it all in the blender and just drink it all to sortof force feed?

Might taste nasty but if you got willpower you could just down it all? Or maybe use something with a strong taste to overpower the flavor?

Has anyone tried this? Or created shake recipes with whole foods? Would there be any problem to not chewing food?

I do this when I know I won't have time to eat or just need an extra macro/calorie boost. Eggs, ground oat meal, hemp seed, ground flax seed, Greek yogurt, a little milk and water peanut butter and maybe some whey and I'm set... and of course my stride and true ninja

Loads of lifters eat like this, chicken breast, rice, cabbage.. Blend and drink x7 a day. Sorted! Boom gains

I've been researching this and you're right. A lot of people blend everything up and drink it. So it does work. My question is though, with the chewing and the saliva being the first step in digestion are they getting all the nutrients out of their blended meals? I'm not opposed to trying something new but I'll be dawned if I'm going to blend up a steak.... that's blasphemy.

Totally agree no blending of steaks! ha ha

It bypasses the whole process of chewing so thats not a factor. Saliva is a minor factor in the digestion process. It does less than what the stomach does and the stomach and small intestine can more than compensate for that loss. Plus saliva is taken with the shake as it goes down your throat so its not completely bypassed.

Good response and it makes sense. Technology is an amazing thing..... blenders have made chewing your food obsolete. Lol

1/2 cup of rolled oats
1/4 cup of steel cut oats
2 tds of natural chunky peanut butter
2 tsp of ground flax seed
1 cup of Greek yogurt
2 scoops of paleo protein
Juice of choice, I use cran-apple

I drink two of these a day

I also eat steak at least 3 xs a day with brown rice or baked potatoe with a vegetable

I don't believe you can get everything you need in a shake. Lean red meat packs it on me faster than anything I've tried. I also eat salmon and brown rice when I'm on a clean bulk. Dirty bulk triple cheese burger combo meal from Wendy's..... among other things.

Something I did for about 5yrs ED (and never once got ill) was put 6 whole eggs in the microwave for about 30 secs and then into a glass of pulpy OJ.
Complex carbs and pure protein in about a min.
People freak out when I would mention it but nuking it kills the bacteria. I never had an issue and I just really liked it.
30 secs would cook some of the egg white around the edge of the bowl and make it kinda lumpy, which was the worst part but that's where the pulp in the OJ comes in.

Sure will work as long as the shakes are made of real food.

you get more out of your veggies and stuff if blended and eaten raw. I wouldn't recommend blending raw chicken. unless salmonella is something you are craving, in the case blend some raw pork in there.

Yes you can and I prefer to just blend whole foods instead of using weight gainers. I make 2 different shakes daily. a fruit based and a milk based.
Fruit Shake:
1cup-grapefruit juice (without corn syrup)
1-2oz-aloe vera juice
1 scoop-Performance Greens
1-carrot
Hand full of each- cherries, sliced peaches, mixed organic berries (strawberry, blueberry, blackberry, raspberry), melon (sometimes cantaloupe sometimes honey dew)
.5 cup- organic oatmeal
2-6- large eggs

Milk based shake
1.5 cups- whole chocolate milk
1.5 cups- organic oatmeal
1 scoop- whey protein
1 scoop- beef protein
2-6 eggs
odd amounts of fruit or spinach sometimes
.5 cups- ice water

Neither of these is strict as far as ingredients that's just a basic list of what I add but it changes. Basically you can throw anything your taste buds can handle in the blender.

Yes you can blend it all up. Additionally, Protein shakes have a better amino acid profile than most protein sources so I don't see the need to eat whole foods. I've gained most of my size through shakes. The problem comes from weight gainers which contain maltodextrin. This is not a source of carbs you want to live off of because it is not micro nutrient dense. You can use things like buckwheat flour and oat powder for carbs. Almond flour for fats. Protein shakes.

Getting most of your calories and protein from whey shakes is definitely not a good idea. More than 1 of 2 a day isn't a good idea. Most protein powders dont even have as much protein per serving as the supp companies claim.

I like to run my rolled oats through a food processor and turn them into a fine powder. This powder work great for carbing up shakes. Years ago I was working in a kitchen and I had an older gent come in who had to drink his meals, I think he had digestion problems. Anyway I blended a full bacon cheese burger for him, just having to add a bit of water. I remember him telling me that it was one of his favorite meals.

Well.., the raw egg question has been brought up before. You will get a debate about bioavailability of the protein.
Some feel the protein needs denaturized by cooking or mechanically. Some say raw eggs are great and make you huge!
If you use processed egg whites from a carton I guess that solves some problems... Idk... I have no problem drinking a cup full of a dozen raw eggs 4:1 whites to whole.
I drink a couple different shakes regularly, Vikings oat, ISO, almond butter, and whole milk.. And sometime I make a shake similar to yours with oats, a bunch of eggs, peanut butter, whole milk, casein protein, and nestle quick.
I have gained 30 pounds in 6 weeks and still have a 6 pack.
But I eat a shit ton of real food as well. I believe anything you drink is supplemental, gains only stay from eating solid foods IMO.

Oh yeah, and raw eggs give you gas. I have been told this is because your body cannot digest the protein in raw eggs so they are colon bacteria bombs!

And, guys, sorry if I'm wrong on any of this, this is just my own experience and beliefs....

I'd pulverize crispy bacon into dust and blend it into that with a pinch of sea salt and black pepper. Easy breezy.

That's about 40 grams of protein right? Of course you can down this drink if you can stomach it. I prefer just a Metrx shake however. When I was younger I tried to swallow one egg white and I couldn't do it so good luck getting it down. I'm sure you can handle it
