4 months in last bit of stomach fat

ad

Hey guys and or girls!

So I'm new to this site as you can tell and have a few questions of course.

I am 41 years old and back in my 20's I used to work out pretty hardcore and was in great shape. Fast forward to now and within the last 3 years I went from 150 pounds to a whopping 240, marriage will do that hehe. Anyways I hit the gym 4 months ago and started a cycle of test E @500 a week. I dropped now to 206. My problem is twofold.

  1. My abs. I still have that layer of fat that does not want to go and its pissing me off. Any suggestions?
I do cardio for about 20 minutes once a week.
  2. I hurt my right rotator cuff a while back so it makes doing bench presses painful and I believe it is diminishing my chest workouts. Is there any other chest exercises you guys can recommend that avoid that type of movement? I appreciate the help guys.

Hey mack 3 weeks ago I started cutting out carbs after 3 o'clock and it's working great. I don’t always hit zero carbs, some days as much as 20g but it's still working. I basically eat like a full on bulk until 3 o'clock so my weight is stable but my belly fat is going away.

I have some ideas on how to get rid of it with my back layer as well, I got 2 months before I start my full on cutter; its a shame I wont feel the full effects of it til after summer.

Hey iMac!
I know its been a while since your post but im curious. You were pretty big when you started the Test E cycle. Did you have any worry about gyno? was there a way around that? I know the anti Estrogens work that end but they say if your BFP is over 18% you still run the risk. What are your thoughts?
Thanks, Mike

I would up the cardio to 3 times a week for 30 mins if your on cycle I would just try to keep a nice steady pace but I've learned if I'm off cycle hiit seems to work better for fat loss. Also with the shoulder injury I would just do Cable flies as stated and stay away from any bar presses, I myself like dumbbells better because there isn't as much stress on my shoulders and after 3 surgeries it isn't worth trying to show off bench pressing.

It's definitely Bursitis. I had it when I was younger and thought it went away. The last 2 weeks I was taking Omega 3 and taking it easy on my shoulder and have made about a 90% recovery. So yesterdays chest exercise was right on, sore as hell today.

2 Yes. A shoulder injury of any kind can drastically cut into your entire upper body training and lower body as well if you have external rotation limitation and can not hold a bar across your shoulders to squat with (for example).

Technically you should not be lowering a bar (or dumb bells) all the way down. That is simply over stretching and with the added weight, you are begging for an injury or for a current injury to worsen. You can instead substitute the machine flyes (not the pec dec) for 7-8 high rep sets just to switch things up and keep some training going on with the muscle while you heal. Don't try to grow during this time because you will be doing the proverbial one step forward two steps back.

Try to get in to see an ART specialist as well. They are a huge help. And lastly, have you had an MRI or anything to determine it was your rotor cuff and not just tendonitis, buritis, etc.. they all cause shoulder pain in pretty much the same way , but each has a different recovery method.

Have you ever gotten rid of that stomach fat before? Many men are genetically endowed with stubborn fat pockets in the abdominal area. Someone once said that once you get a fat cell you don't really lose a fat cell. You can only shrink it. I have personally seen many of the top "physique" models in FL to go in and have "ab sculpting" with Vaser. It could be something you may want to look into. After 40 our bodies are pretty stubborn and do not like to change at all.

What biggerthanyou said will work. I did it 20min cardio then 45 min workout

I am trying to bulk at the same time since I am at a plateau of size; I have been 206 for the past 2 weeks and have been trying to overeat as much as possible.

1 cardio session at 20 min a week is not gonna cut the body fat from you.... you should be doing 30 min sessions at 3 to 4 times a week.
