+ 5 My Epic strength cycle

ad

Have been training specifically for strength for several months now. Have a solid routine in place and am looking to hit a couple specific goals. Looking to hit 315 on bench for a clean double which WILL be a 25lb PR and a 500lb deadlift for a single WILL be a 35lb PR. Squats are light until my knee decides to cooperate.

Now get ready for this crazy cycle kiddos.

wks 1-8 Test E @ my TRT dose
wks 1-8 Var @ 50mg/day
wks 1-8 adex @ .5mg eod
wks 1-8 FOOD @ several buckets / day

Thats my super crazy high dose strength cycle lol. All you young guns hitting these fucktard multiple gram cycles should try running something like this coupled with hard work, smart training and calories. You just might surprise yourself.

Mission complete, Pulled 500 for 1 today. Felt wayyy heavier than I anticipated and wasnt as smooth as expected but got it up nonetheless. Ran out of var about 2 weeks ago as Ive gotten way behind schedule due to life getting in the way so pulled it on my 180mg/wk and thats it.

Going forward Id like to get some real programming in place so I can keep moving forward.

If anyone on here is a powerlifter with experience in programming Send me and FR and a PM as I'd love to pick your brain.

Sounds like you're well on you way to your goals. I know how hard it is when you're tall and have long muscles. If you're having serious shoulder issues I'd abandon the flat bench all together. How does your should feel doing incline or decline. When I had some shoulder issues the flat bench bothered me the most. I ended up doing incline and decline benches. I also could only do 3/4 flys. I couldn't get a full range in motion on flys so I had to drop in weight and do 3/4's. I'm having elbow problems right now and had to abandon all pressing motions. I can still get good workouts on everything but triceps. I love to see people set attainable goals and drivem' home. Good work bro! +1

1/2 Way update:

As far as my deadlift goal of a 500lb 1rm I feel Im right on track. Hit a 465lb double today which was after several work sets with 365-405lbs. Incorporating deficit dead lifts has really improved my bar speed on my conventional deadlift. Ive no doubt in my mind I am going to hit 500lbs 4
weeks from now.

Ive run into problems on my path to a 315lb double on the bench. Have been experiencing shoulder pain on my left side. Anytime I mive my arm in a lateral raise tupe motion there is sharp pain. I can bench somewhat light without pain but when I up the poundage and my form breaks down even the slightest bit its very painful. At this point Im planning on doing no presses at all for a full week and then we reassess thensituation.

Wow bro, we have almost the same goals! My are more pointed at being accomplish by the end of the year...
I don't really touch flat bench anymore, I'm all about incline everything... right now incline 225 for 2. But I'm sure by the end of the year I'll be back up to 225 for 8. Good luck dude, you'll kill it! +1

Thanks bro, you'll get those 8 reps for sure. 7 months left in the year, add 1 rep each month and you'll crush it it. I found standing overhead press really shot my incline numbers up quick.

I try to stay away from pressing motions with my shoulders. Arnold said pressing destroys the joints, and laterals will be a great set of shoulders without the regret. If I do shoulder press I stick with seated barbell press. btw thanks bro, I like to make short term goals, to keep my focus and effort at it's strongest

i only flat bench, im doind 4 sets of 8 at 140kgs ( 310 pounds ) the rest of chest i use dumbells and cables, shoulders i use dumbells aswell, but i grow the most sitting on smith machine and doing behind head presses at moderate weight, like 60kgs, just 3 sets of ten x a week, and my delts are fkn staunch and capped!

You must have a huge upper chest. I notice doing shoulder press also helped fill in the upper portion of my pecs... It's just an uncontrollable exercise for me...

VIKING EVOLUTION's picture

Use the Smith machine for more control bro.

Also a good tip if you really want to blast delts............. load up the bar ultra heavy, get your spotter to help you RAISE the bar, then you CONTROL the downward negative movement...... believe me this will incinerate the delts and upper pecs.......... never let the upper arm go below parallel! this keeps the tension in the delts throughout the movement and also protects the rotator cuffs because you never come to low.

I'm sorry viking I meant an uncortable exercise... I tried doing the smith machine, It worked up a good pump, but I feel a lot better with the free bar... I have delts wednesday night, I will give this a try...I always try to do 2 negatives per week on the incline bench, man talk about going to failure and beyond LOL.. thank you viking.

no my chest is my weak point, my arms and shoulders are big, the reason i do cables is to get that definition after bench, i can get a really good contraction/ squeeze on each rep, lol my chest sux, dont forget, im 6"2 my upper chest is my hardest, i was lanky, thickness had to come first.

that makes sense... I never really felt the cable flyes. I always stuck with the traditional dumbbell flyes or machine flyes... I notice partial reps build more thickness in your chest then the whole range of motion.

try glutamine... helped my mate with same shoulder issues. im training different now, prison style , my mat that does comps is obsessed with ripping up now, fk that im a bulker, i like gorrila look, im not into ripped abs and skinny physique, i like being big and solid. heavy weight, 2 minutes rest between sets, high carb, medium protein, works for me and my goal....

Where's the creatine brah? Everyone knows creatine is the best legal steroid for massive strength gain!

bigrigger's picture

You guys and your over the top cycles. The best steroid ever,"FOOD"!!!!+1

CBBurrr's picture

Grimey, did you run some of those stupid kid, multi compound cycles back in the day? 29 seems real young to be on TRT.
Mirin your goals for this cycle, I'll probably never get close to those lifts.

GRIMEY's picture

I certainly did. What I learned is all it did for me was bring more sides and mess with my head. That however is not the cause of my low test, that is attributed to being an obese, unactive, street drug abusing shmuck for the better part of my youth.

As for hitting those lifts, you certainly can. A 315 bench at my weight, 220ish, is easy for most, however I have the wingspan of a 747 so that poses a bit of a challenge but thats the fun part. As for the deadlift my long arms are an advantage for that as I lock out about half way up my quads.
