+ 9 Simple Cycles and Great Results.

ad

As most of you that know me would agree with, I like the conservative approach to cycling. Like most my age, I've run some stupid stuff in my younger years when pools of resource like eroids weren't available. I ran my first cycle at 26, then had a break from 29 to 34 years old due to a serious road traffic accident that I only just survived. I picked up the weights again at 32, then 5 years ago I decided it was time to get more serious again. This time, I was way more clued up than I was in my twenties and I took a conservative approach to length of cycle and doses. This is still how I run my show now, most of my cycles are more conservative than some of the guys on their third or fourth run. I'm still bouncing back ok after cycles at 39, and I like it that way. TRT is not something I'll engage with unless I have to.

Which brings me to my point, I want to compare two cycles. The first was a run I did around this time last year. A classic Test / Deca / Anadrol bulker. I ran Mast and Proviron throughout as well, giving a total amount of gear that's pretty horrific when I add it up. I'm about a dozen cycles into my AAS life, so I can run hefty doses, but did I need to? This was a productive cycle, of what I gained I kept about 8lbs, (which is more than acceptable at my size), BF levels almost identical finish and start. A good cycle, I was pleased with the results.

Cycle number 2 started back end of 2013. Test 500mg/wk, EQ 800mg/wk for 18 weeks. I had 8 weeks of low dose Tren A (50mg ed) in the cycle, and again I ran mast and proviron as I always do. I'm 2 weeks into PCT at time of writing and my results from this cycle have been the best I have achieved in a long time. At present, I'm 11lbs up, (expect to keep 7 or 8), BF is nearly 3% down and visually the quality of muscle density has improved dramatically. I'm now back at near stage ready condition, something which after my accident I thought would never happen.

So why was cycle number 2 more productive than 1? Surely with over 2g of gear per week, I'd grow more? NO. I'd be pretty confident if I halved the doses of the test and deca results wouldn't have been dramatically different. For the record, same labs involved in terms of gear supply. I wasted a lot of that gear, it wasn't necessary.

Why else?

DIET. My diet has been 99% spot on for this entire recent cycle. I've had zero cheat days in 4 months, I've eaten clean, and I've consistently eaten 6K+ calories per day and well in excess of 400g of protein. And I mean food, not protein / weight gainer shakes, proper FOOD. What I saved on AAS by running lower doses, I spent on beef at the butchers.

TRAINING. I've trained like I used to when I was younger, small rests between sets, intense sessions, (the sort that makes your training partner puke). Loads of drops sets and super sets, concentrating on squeezing muscle rather than shifting weight "just for the sake of it".

So what am I trying to get across here? If I'd doubled the dose on cycle two, would the gains have increased? Probably not or very little. If I'd increased the food on cycle one or two, would the gains have increased, Yes. If I'd dropped the doses on cycle one, would the gains have dropped significantly? Probably not. See the pattern?

Simple cycle = Easier recovery.
Less gear = More money for food.

KEEP IT SIMPLE. If it works for me, there's no reason it can't work for you as long as you concentrate on the important stuff, DIET and TRAINING.

My cycle was supposed to have started two weeks ago but I am currently making some impressive gains with my new diet and training routine that I will probably post-pone it another week or two if I am continuing to make steady gains. The only "gear" I am on right now is my trt and 50mg of proviron, so I guess it is a pretty conservative cycle. No I am not gaining 5 lbs a week or adding 25lbs to my bench every week but I am putting on about a half pound a week and dropping BF at the same time. The nice thing about it is that that slow buildup of muscle will stay with me and won't be lost like a lot of weight is after a cycle. Just another example I guess of the importance of diet and training in the grand scheme of cycling.

Good decision and discipline. I like throwing a little proviron in myself with my trt dosing as it helps my sex drive and holds me little tighter. Prolly get a great rebound when you do start and grow like crazy

PIN_CUSHION's picture

Great discipline. You see the big picture for sure.

Awsome post man, if only people would let this kind info sink in verses I need to pin a gram+ a week for gains. It was different when I was young, you couldnt get gear like you can today, All this info was not available, all the kids look at is pin= easy gains, They eat like shit, and dont train hard enough. Fuck I had to steal an underground handbook from the library just so I could figure out what the fuck to do with whatever I could get. Crazy nowadays.

I think that's a big part of it for those of our age, it was tougher to get gear do when we did you had to have all the other parts on the money already. I hear guys at the gym 80lbs lighter than me talking about running twice as much gear as I do.

Wonderful truth bro.

Great post brother! Im not ready for any cycles other than test for awhile, but the diet knowledge remains the same. Im totally sold on the less is more concept with gear. I would like to add provi on my next cycle though. Thanks for sharing your wisdom bro!

Lol - missed that! An old mate of mine runs one of the best butchers in the UK that a lot of the top restaurants use. Looks after me with prices etc. Fish I tend to buy from Costco.

GrowMore's picture

Could of been interpreted either way mate. Crafty bugger, if he ever needs a new friend let me know. I'll look into Costco also.

I buy whole sides of salmon there, good quality and not bad prices. I portion it up into 250g pieces and freeze it.

VIKING EVOLUTION's picture

pure quality we use costco for salmon too........ and those sides are like 2 foot long.

vhman's picture

I feel that costco has the best meat, chicken, fish, etc. for the price and quality.

VIKING EVOLUTION's picture

I have like 10 sardines every morning for brekky, and if they were any cheaper they would be for free bro.

vhman's picture

I don't think my Costco has sardines. Although I've never checked. Guess it's time to a trip this afternoon!

This thread has made me hungry Smile Off to eat meal number 7.

X2!
I get 90% of my meats from a poultry. Although I'm in the market for cheap steaks and tins of tuna.

Over here Costco sells reasonable steak, some decent veal too.

Just reminded me I had an entire chicken for lunch today. We went out for a meal and I ate what was apparently "a sharing platter for 4". The young skinny waiter thought it was hilarious when after the entire chicken he overheard me asking the mrs if she was going to eat her rice and if not, could I have it?

VIKING EVOLUTION's picture

Gonna have to rename this the appetite thread lol..... GHRP-6 has just kicked me in the guts again so its kitchen time seeya!

GrowMore's picture

Any way of getting around the 'have to be a shop owner' rule to shop there?
Waste not want not! I hate going to anything other than an all you can eat other wise I either do not get enough or have to pay £15+ on top of the price of the meal for extras. All I want is 4 pouches eggs, 2 more chicken breasts and a god damn extra portion of brown rice!

Nothing to add here brother apart from +3.

Awesome post.. this is exactly how I want to do it in my lifetime with long breaks in between cycles with proper blood work, pharma pct and full on cycle protocol with great gear. I really feel that DIET is the key to everything and giving it your best when training, really really feeling the muscle contractions and feeling your muscles waking up and using them until they are completely exhausted. I always say to myself, tax yourself physically, get over the mental barrier! My first cycle was a 400mg/week of test-e and my second will just be a 500/week with a prop taper and kicker.. I want to literally drain every little bit out of that test to maximize my full potential. Like they say, the workout is usually the easy part, the hard part is in the kitchen Lol. Thanks for posting, I appreciate a good read from time to time among everything else going on!

GRIMEY's picture

yessir, nevermind underdosed, if the gear is 100% bunk, yet gym/food is in order, there will be gains.

I tell ya what my man, Im very glad I followed your same advice you gave me through PMs and dialed my cycle back a bit. Went from my initial idea of blasting 800 test a week(with a few other compounds) and dropped it back to 600mg (50 mg provi ED too) and focused on my diet instead. Up 10 goddamn SOLID lbs in the first month(the Tbol kick def helped). I havnt had this progress since my first cycle and man is it a nice feeling.

I def got into that more is better mind set and have slowly ramped my dosages up each round and added more compounds. Taking a step back and focusing on the basics has truly showed me the power of a consistent BIG diet and training. Sometimes it takes us youngins a while to realize this lol

That's what I'm talking about!

We've all fallen into the trap. Just a case of knowing how to learn from mistakes.

+2 for sharing the positive experience, what others need to gear rather than my babbling!

IrishMack's picture

I have been preaching this for a very long time; mostly to deaf ears and blind eyes. Because even some of our members here long time standing still show cycles of over 2g a week of test. You are also living proof that diet is the key to open the size and muscle lock box.

Catalyst's picture

More gear = more sides.

Why bother with more side effects unless you have to? The sooner some of these guys work that out the better their cycles will be.

IrishMack's picture

I cannot agree more.

PIN_CUSHION's picture

Not all deaf ears, I've listened to everyone's advice, and the cycle I am on now is a simple Test E 500mg a week, and Proviron 50mg split ED. After joining here I stepped back and evaluated where I wanted to be. I decided that I'm not a professional BB and I shouldn't cycle like one. I'm a recreational user like most guys here who is just looking to improve my physique and health. I think when you accept who and where you are it makes the process easier. I'm still studying everything there is to know about AAS not because I'm gonna try every compound there is, but because I want to learn what each and everyone does so I can properly determine if it is right for me, plus it's all very intriguing.

IrishMack's picture

Remember this much at least, what one person uses does not or might not work for the next. It's all about the dial in. Even if you will never be a bodybuilder; you still need to follow some of the things they do.

PIN_CUSHION's picture

Right, I just meant in the aspect of multiple stacks, and high doses. I like to learn about the advanced stuff, just not for me personally.
