Whole Foods Suggestions

ad

So I'm out of town and will be hitting up a Whole Foods. I don't have one where I live and have never shopped at one. I would like some suggestions on what I should stock up on. Thanks fellas.

I think whole foods is over rated, but there are some things you can only find there. Well I'm not much help at all I guess lol

Yea I'm looking for some exotic things that you can't get just anywhere.

UgtaBkdNme's picture

Well that's the place to go lol I run into items in recipes that I can only locate at whole foods but they are normally just small ingredients, herbs, spices, ect They have a great cheese section and bulk grains section but otherwise you really are better off finding a local market. Not aldi's or something but a mom ad pop place. Our local butcher always has an interesting selection even fresh fish he caught this morning.

Their fish and meats are delicious and fresh. As far as fruits, you can get them at publix, in less you Like expensive and organic. The meat section is where it's at in whole foods Market. Imo

Thx I brought a cooler with me for the trip back.

Agreed; Meats, seafood, etc. are the best. Bring your high limit credit card.

U usually go for a small piece of sword fish and put it on the grill with lemon. Or snapper, tilapia, salmon. Just about every fish they have taste amazing, compared to reg grocery stores imo. I usually spend about 15-20 bucks on a piece of good fish, but worth every penny imo. Whole foods is like my personal treat!

A treat indeed. Their steaks are fantastic and I got some lobster and crab there and it couldn't of been better.

Haha, well we're out of town spending some Tax return money.

The other downside is that it will spoil you for other meats, seafood and produce. Enjoy!

IMO it's an overpriced boutique supermarket.

window shop, get over it, buy your food at krogers, safeway, albertson, piggly wiggly...

I appreciate the honesty. I do my shopping at Krogers, albeit a small one, so I was looking for things that were unavailable to be. There is also a Trader Joe's have you been?

Trader Joes is also pricey but you'll find a lot of stuff you would normally not see anywhere else.

Disclaimer: Where food is concerned. Particularly meat. With my cooking skills, it wouldn't matter if the meat was shot, dressed and carved before my eyes or one week old, buzzard picked, road kill.

It'll all tastes the same... like squirrel jurky.
