Alright I see all kinds of Topics on all kind of different things. So here's one ? What Kind of dog or dogs do you have?? The reason I ask is when I was younger I had a great friend that was a big boy 250 lbs 10% bf he was only 5'6" with no cardio his dog fit his personally ! He had a English Mastiff. They say dogs are mans best friends??
Pmob has 2 Great Dane and 1 English bulldog. Love em !

BuckyDentureIm really glad to hear you are considering the breed to get based on what you know you can offer it. I have a Border Collie and I believe they are one of the most frequent dogs to be given away or sent to a rescue shelter to be placed. I have on and had two before, they are the most extraordinary dogs , they understand you like you wouldnt believe , they are so damn smart . But they need tons of exercise , freedom, and human interaction otherwise they can even go a little crazy. So many people who get them have terrible experiences because they chose the wrong breed for what they could offer.

That happened to me with my last dog a black lab. He was so smart and he would get mad at me and threw fits if I didn't spend enough time with him. Funny to say that but he would destroy things if I left him for the day but if I was home he was the greatest dog ever lol
Definitely rescue.. if you want a inside dog just look for anything that isnt a puppy LOL.. adults are easier to train from my experience.. but honestly youll prlly go with what ever your kid gets attached to when you visit the rescue.. its really hard to say no to a child and a dog lmao

With some time and love you can really make just about any dog work.. just some take a little more work than others.. and that really comes down to their personality.. ive had large breeds that are very submissive and then tiny dogs that think theyre the damn alpha male LOL
Male Pit/bulldog mix. 70 lbs of face licking fury. lol. I love my little guy. He is completely useless when it comes to guarding the homestead, but he looks the part of a mean strong dog. The wifey brought him home as a rescue and I fell in love with him 2 seconds later.
BuckyDentureyou know its the funniest thing about dogs like you describe . Sometimes the most mild mannered and friendly dogs seem like they wouldnt protect and guard, but somehow they often have a sense when something is a true threat and will surprise the hell out of you at how they will defend you or your family.
Lol my rescue I told you about is a complete pansy.. if I look at him wrong he pisses himself.. and NO I dont beat him.. and a worker walked in my home and I watched him get very protective.. he pulled this deep ferocious bark out of no where... shocked the hell out of me.. cant tell if hes going to grow into a damn bear or stay the size he is

Two pitbulls. One blue nose, one black white spot. Which sleep in the bed with me and My fiance. She hates it. I tell her well theres the door! Nothing comes between me and my pups. I do kick them out when we get the nookie on but after there right back in.

Siberian husky, she is about to be two. Best pet eve. Overly affectionate sometimes and loves to run which is not good for my gains but strapped her up the bike last month and she just pulls away, problem solved.
I have an American Bully. He's a blue and a shorty. Not quite a pocket. He's a beast tho. Just a little over a year. Has a 23 inch head and only 16.5 inches tall. Weighs 80 pounds but still has a lot of thicking up to do. He is dual registered ABKC and UKC. Parents are grand champions. His father is one of the top producers in the USA. Also have a female red nose pit bull. She don't have papers or anything and is 9 years old.
I have a 85lb "Johnson", no not my penis! I have an 85 lbs American bull dog "Johnson type". He's red nose and has green eyes, sheds like hell and loves to beg for food. He thinks he's a puppy, but hates other dogs and small children. He was beat up at a dog park when he was a pup, now he attacks every dog that approaches him.
I have a golden retriever, an affenpinscher, and wife has a malte-poo. The affenpinscher is a little German terrior...toughest damn dog I've ever seen, she kicks the 85lb golden retriever's ass on a daily basis!
We have 2 small spaniel mixes, shelter dogs, each about 25 lbs. Great dogs and both very smart.

The dog in my profile pic was my Doberman had to put him down in 2009. He was smart, loyal, protective and very lovable miss him. We have a Min weinie dog and a Italin Greyhound they are our babys. Next big Dog will be a Rottie just waiting until I have the time to devote to raising him properly.

ooh plz post up a pic, I've always had and have rotties, however a year or so back I decided to give home to a blue Dane and have been in search for my baby since. we had one opportunity since, drove 3hrs to the breeders house prepared to spend a grand or so. prior to leaving the breeder told me that her pups go from and 800 and up, upon arriving she had told my wife and I that the blue would not leave for less than 2k, I was upset and shared myself with this breeder stating that was a far stretch from 800. unfortunately we left without our puppy. still looking, many Dane pups out there not many blues.

Boom, 3 dog family now. My best friend relapsed with meth and heroin. I went and saved his 5 year old female pit bull. Hopefully we are just fostering her til my boy gets back on his feet. If not, she's a great addition to the fam.

I have a white German Shepherd/blue heeler, and a lab/blue heeler. Both about 4, they were puppies when we got them but were rescues so I dont know exactly. I ended up with them after a relationship ended, but they're my babies and I wouldnt have it any other way now.

I have a Laughing hyena that I found as a puppy when on a safari. I smuggled him back to the states and raised him from a bottle. He is 3 years old now and every day I think about killing him. He is the shittiest pet of all time. He bites me every damn day and I can beat him and beat him but nothing happens. It's like he enjoys it. He looks at me like I'm dinner. When I am sleeping he will piss on me and do his stupid ass laugh bark and bite me the second I wake up. I have to lock the bathroom doors when I shit because if I don't he forces me off the toilet and reaches his paws into the water, extracts the shit and plays with it in the living room. He shits in his bedding, rolls in it and then jumps on me. He has ruined every piece of furniture that I own and has chewed the handles off my refrigerator.
