Staying on cycle
Here are my current stats:
30yr old
239lbs
8 % bodyfat (a rough guess)
6 ft 1 inch
I have 5 cycles under my belt and have used various compounds such as test, tren, deca, var, winstrol, anadrol etc.
I am a dedicated bodybuilder and I will become a Pro of the IFBB one day. I've been researching staying on cycle and there are quite a few pro's and con's. I want your guys' opinion of this idea. I found myself at a crossroads because I go off cycle and I have a competition coming up and am currently off cycle but I'm very concerned about my chances if I'm not using some of the compounds other competitors are using. I have competed gear free and placed second (I lost by one point, and the crowd thought I should have won). I just am not sure if I'm wasting my time by coming off cycle, as this is the lifestyle I want. My diet is in check, and I'm also a personal trainer, Please feel free to give your opinions on this.
My diet is based upon carb cycling when I'm in contest prep, which I am now. When working out Legs my macros are as follows 500g of carbs, 350g of protein and 50g of fat. For Chest/Back my macros are 400g of carbs 350g or protein and 60g of fat. For shoulders/triceps/biceps my macros are 300g of carbs, 350g of protein and 65g of fat. On days which I don't workout, while in contest prep, I usually drop carbs to 100-150g, protein 400g and fats 75g. I also usually throw in a couple of zero carb days on non training days, my macros that day are 0 carbs, 425g of protein 100g of fat.

I personally know a pro and he's in his 40s and still cycles to this day he doesn't stay on. Cons do this would be sticking a needle in your ass the rest of your life and possibly not having kids but.recently Ronnie had a kid and branch warren like 6 years back or something like that. But I see no reason for you to stay on. Like Hollywood said plan your cycles around your competition. This is exactly what I do. I plan how long I can go on a bulk cycle and have time off and pct before my competition cycle so it's around 2 cycles a year for me
Your a smart dude Buddha but man your only 30.. just seems the risk is not worth the reward to me.. that's my two cents, however I know I will never get to that level .. sooo
AnonAppreciate that homie and at this point I'm not going to do it. However, I respect the members of this community and value everyons opinion. Thanks Gymjunkie

For 99% of people who are not at the national level or under 35 yrs old, I would strongly discourage it. For older guys, who want to get their labs done, I see less of a reason not to, as they are probably done having kids and at the acceptable age for HRT anyway. Once you've been on for awhile, you'll probably never totally recover and need to go through some serious effort, if you ever want to try to have children. A lot of newer guys do a few cycles and think wow, I gain 12 lbs a cycle. If I stay on, I'll keep gaining 12 lbs every 10 wks. It doesn't work that way. After 10-16 wk, your gains will slow. It will take more and more to continue to evoke a response and even then, you won't be making great gains. People who don't come off, will blast gear at a cycle dose for a period, say 8-12 wks, and then lower it down to HRT dosing, 100-200mg wk, for an equal period of time, so their body can take a break and reset itself, in order to prepare to grow again. Even with this method, don't expect to make the same kind of gains you make my going off and then on again. What was once 12-15 lbs gains, will be more likely to turn into 6-7 lb gains, then 5 or 4 lb gains. What I'm saying is, it isn't what it's cracked up to me. Not to mention, you will put yourself at greater risk for health concerns. If you decide to blast and cruise, it is imperative to get your labs done on a very regular basis. I would have blood work done every 3 months, to check your liver, kidney function, and heart.
AnonVery well thought out response, thank you for your imput.

AnonThanks brother. I know how devasting it is to the body to stay on cycle. Right now, I'm against the theory due to the fact that I'm still making noticeable gains from cycling. Thank you for the input.
