Funny you post this. For the better part of the last year I have been growing the chin part of my beard, made it to 5" or so. Yesterday, playing around with my outdoor wood boiler (I was gathering coals to grill with) I got a little too close, a little sizzle and it was wrecked.... I am pretty bummed out about having to start over. :(

It's funny cause when my wife and I were dating and early in our marriage she wanted me clean shaven. I hate shaving so I just quit then when the beard starting coming in she started digging it. Now she loves it.
I've always had some kind of facial hair. Once I started to go bald and started to shave my head a beard was essential
and 15 months ago my wife and I had another baby so I just started to grow my goatee after she was born and kept the rest of my beard kinda trim and she loves it. My shit is like 7" long now. I actually just trimmed it so it will grow more.
One funny thing is that it is very intimidating and just adds that much more judgement when people see a 6' 9" 270 lb bald guy with tattoos and a big ass beard. When I walk into a room ALL eyes on me! I have always attracted attention because of my sheer size but the beard makes it that much more.
