Calves like a girl...

ad

No matter how many calf exercises I do they still are small and look girly....
Any suggestions on how to build my calves so at least they match with the rest of my body...

using your body weight only go out and find yourself a curb, bare footed or 5 fingers, put the tip of your toes on it, go up hold for 2 seconds , go all the way down and stretch for 2 seconds, do 100 reps if you can. i promise you will feel it, after about a month of doing so buy a book bag and start adding weight, make sure your form still looks and feels good.. the only person you have to impress is yourself..

Christian thibideau has some good info on high frequency training for calf growth, yet to try it for calves but worked great for bringing up lat strength for me

I don't have big calves but they ain't small 18's with noticeable seperation in the muscles. I posted about this before, I really noticed an increase in size and definition by using Vibrams during my training, if your interested I have a forum thread on it. ALSO hit them at every angle, 1)standing calf raises with toes forward, 2)toes together and 3)heals together toes out in v shape. This will take time to get used to the form but I found this really improved the definition of my calves. Also using the seated press maching for calf raises will build the muscle on top of your shin giving a nice look to your leggs.

first warm-up your calves, then make jump squats, for better efficiency use a sandbag with handles ( but do not use extra heavy weights)and make an effort to touch the floor with your heels as little as possible. personally i prefer this exercise for my calves

Easy homes: work your calves everyday, high reps like 40 or 50 per set x three sets. Use a different foot position every set, lock your knees, on your last set hold at the top as long as you can then descend into a stretch hold for a while and then do bounces 'till the pain becomes intolerable. This issue is usually because your dominant fiber type is different then what your training is working.

I started this for my girl calves and now they're getting awesome.

I used to do standing calf raises with a machine fully loaded plus another 100kg of plates hanging off it, calves made progress but nothing great then we started using the seated calf machine as well as standing. Made some real progress from using both and moving foot positions on different sets.

the best results i have with calves and same with abs are treating them as any other muscle group as far as reps and sets..i see everyone at my gym doing calve raises with little weight and tons of reps, same with abs.do 4 sets of 8-12 with weight you can handle to reach that rep with close to failure by 10,with 3 or 4 different exercises..same goes with abs at a slow controlled pace with complete tension in the muscle and watch them grow.

IMO calves and abs can be worked everyday. I noticed gains when I did them everyday instead of twice a week

Kind of agree here, I probably wouldn't go everyday but I have found they need hammering more often than other muscles. I train mine 3 or 4 times per week.

Makre sure you're getting a full stretch and contraction. The mistake most people make if shit form and lazy reps with calves.

Do you alternate toe positions ? I go toe to toe then str8 then toes to 10 - 2 o clock major noticeable differance . shit my calves were the most noticeable results

night and day difference blast the fuck out of them bro total of three positions 4 sets of each position let me know if you dont see a difference in two weeks ill def be surprised ! I never neglect legs I typically (try) to do 2 leg workouts a week

How often do you do these? I'm in the same boat as Infidel. I've tried working calves every day light high volume, I've tried everyday heavy as fuck, I've tried doing two or three different movements high volume and heavy, on various days, everyday, shit it doesn't seem to matter. My calves don't grow. I recently just did this 100 heel raises everyday for a month thing I read on T-Nation that supposedly would put 1" on my calves. Yeah, right.

Igf-1 shots in calves directly after working them.

Sorry for my lack of knowledge about IGF-1, but how is this going to work? Dosage?
