Giving up Test Prop if things don't get better in the next 3-4 injections

ad

Hey Roidmunchers,
Just started my second cycle (annual cycle).

Test Prop 100mg EOD Week 1-4
Test E 500mg Week 1-10
Test Prop 100mg EOD Week 8-11
Clomid Week 12-16 - 100/100/50/50
Novladex Week 12-16 - 40/40/20/20

Arimidex on hand if gyno symptoms occur. I also have Aromasin on hand but will see if its needed for this cycle.

I switched to a Ethyl Oleate based Test Prop this cycle.

Last year a suffered MASSIVE PIP and flu-symptoms post injection each time I used Prop. I soldiered through, but my aches and pains were too much, my workouts suffered. I used Caddy's test-flu remedies and injection techniques to help reduce PIP. I do all of it - heating pad, warm bottles, blow drying syringe, hot bath - you name it.

I'm starting to think its the Prop.

Test E only is not as bad for me - though I may have just put up with it mid-cycle last year. With Test E only I get PIP but I live to fight another day and the light headed feeling eventually goes away. But prop gives me the chills the next day (24 hours) makes all my old sports injuries come back to life and gives me aches and pains I never thought possible. This is after EACH injection.

I thought I was being a pansy... but I'm convinced Prop disagrees with me.

I will say that the EO-based Prop has less PIP that's for sure. But the flu-like symptoms from the short ester are just too debilitating for me.

I'm going to "Drop the Prop" if things don't get better in the next 3-4 injections. Has anyone else had to do this with the short ester? I feel... pathetic about it. But my body just can't handle it.

Just to close this thread people: I have 'dropped the prop' and now administered two injections of Test E 1ml only (no Prop) - I'm not getting the insane PIP and massive flu-like symptoms 24 hours post injection.

It's done the trick. Its a damn shame, but I guess life could be worse - e.g. I could have an allergy of some sort to Test E.

Life goes on.

Use icy hot on ur injection spot its a life saver. It helps me every time. The first time u use the icy hot will burn. But after that its not to bad. So don't over apply it till u see how ur body handles the heat from it.

Hi,

Like yourself I suffer from tremendous pip from test prop. This is my second cycle of it, the first was aborted due to the debilitating pain.

At the start of this cycle I was suffering too, my quad swelled up and was each muscle took at least 3 days to recover.

I have now switched to subq shots and the difference is amazing. There is still a very small amount of localised soreness, but I am able to get on and train now.

My advice would be to try this and see how you go I am doing 150mg eod and split each shot into several sites as subq can only really take 0.5ml max per site. But if you use a 27g and move around wherever there is a small amount of fat you will be fine.

Hope this may be of some help to you

a large portion of people are actually allergic to EO. That's why you're getting flu like symptoms. The reaction is very similar to what happens when you have hay fever. Good prop shouldn't hurt at all. In currently running it with 0 PIP. Maybe it's time to switch brands

vascular's picture

I don't think its the EO - in fact last year I used non-EO Test Prop and the pain was worse. I was waiting to use the EO-mixed Test Prop this year. I have used 3 different brands now. 2 non-EO and one EO-mixed. EO has helped the PIP, but the aches and pains still the same 24 hours later.

I don't claim to be an expert, but from my research so far and lots of info here and from other forums, short esters ARE known to cause PIP and possibly quick reactions (e.g. flu-like symptoms) to the steroid. Its per individual at best but its known to happen. I think the most pristine pharma-grade Test Prop (or short ester compound) can potentially have such effects depending on the individual.

If it 'doesn't hurt at all' for one individual - that individual is lucky in my opinion. Good for you though bro - I envy you :(

It's a shame for me - cos I feel like a monster for the half day or so that I am cobweb free on Test E and Prop kicker.

EO gas nothing to do with pain. In fact it will lessen pain in most cases as it has a high solubility rate.... Which is one of the main reasons it is used. Flu like symptoms are from an allergic reaction To the carrier.

PIP in the muscle injected AND flu like symptoms after 24 hours: headaches, aches, fever, more aches. It subsides right up until the next injection comes around. :( Its not 'THE TEST FLU' I think - which I got in Week 2 cycle and lasted for 2-3 days - but I guess similar symptoms but they go away...

Yes Vitamin C (4000mg per day right now) and Zinc (50mg per day on a multivitamin dosage) are all up in my body.

Buttocks... 25 pin in the top butt cheek - alternating left and right. I don't do quad or shoulders - last time I did that I couldn't walk or lift. I extract the oils (one barrel for Test E and Test Prop) and use my hair dryer to heat the syringe for 1 minute. Inject (slowly - often taking a minute for 1-2mls) and then apply an electric heat pad to my ass.)

I had a thread in here about my PIP last year and lots advice has been accounted for.

I think its the short ester... it hates me and I hate him back :(

use my hair dryer to heat the syringe for 1 minute.

there's your problem

bacteria city all over your syringe

all of your PIP problems are purely based on improper injection procedure and sterility problems

vascular's picture

This is the first time I've heard about this introducing bacteria to my syringe barrel - which btw is sealed at time of blowing with a capped needle.... how do you propose to warm your oils?

j223's picture

I don't warm my oils. Heating oils to reduce pip is a myth UNLESS you live in a very cold area and get crystallization

if you absolutely need to heat your oils just fill up a small bowl with 1/2inch of water and heat it in microwave for 20 seconds and then set the bottle on it for 15 seconds then draw your oils. that way the oil is heated before you take your syringe out of the wrapper, further reducing any chance of contaminating the needle

vascular's picture

Yup I think you're very lucky. I have not heard vets advise against the hair dryer before. I have had advice against heating in a bowl - as liquid contamination is much more prevalent that blowing air on the external barrel of a syringe.

I didn't heat my first set of injections on my first cycle and I thought I was going to die the next day. I'm serious no joke. I was THAT close to going to a doctor/hospital.

Heating has definitely helped me. In fact if my stuff was contaminated I think I'd be a lot sicker and the injection site red and angry - no such localized symptoms I can see at least. But I'm not a doctor.

Good for you though if you don't need to... you're lucky.

j223's picture

you heat the VIAL not the syringe. there's no chance of contamination... not sure what you are saying

vascular's picture

It sucks rustyhooker - cos I feel like a monster in the gym when the cobwebs clear... but by that time I'm shaking in my boots for the next injection :(

"DROP THE PROP!!!!" Smile

vascular's picture

How many cycles have you done my man? I want to know if experienced cyclists have had to "drop the prop" too... I want to deduce if I need to soldier on and build a better immunity to it...
