What the heck is all this Turmeric talk?
After a conversation with a few members and encouragement from Tread-m...I decided to write an educational topic on this beneficial and very overlooked compound that possesses many ranges of benefits that fall right into our lifestyle...not to say a word would almost be a crime...let's look at it...
Turmeric (Curcuma longa) is a culinary spice, a major ingredient in Indian curries, and the source of American mustard's bright yellow color. Used as both medicine and food for centuries, accumulating evidence suggests that this relative of ginger is a promising preventive agent for a wide range of diseases, probably due largely to its anti-inflammatory properties.
Let's look into the benefits that turmeric can have on u not only in the AAS world but in life in general...Curcumin has been shown to exhibit antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antiviral, antibacterial, antifungal, and anticancer activities and thus has a potential against various malignant diseases, diabetes, allergies, arthritis, Alzheimer's disease and other chronic illnesses.....and the list goes on but I picked a few to talk about that were related to our lifestyle...
First, is arthritis, RA, or joint pain... Since arthritis is so common and the results so interesting....let's check it out...
This research, from Italy, was a three-month trial involving 50 patients diagnosed by x-ray with osteoarthritis of the knee. The Italian team was investigating the effect on arthritis symptoms of a curcumin-based preparation optimized for better absorption. Participating patients took the formulation in addition to standard medical treatment; those in the second group continued following their physicians' recommendations.
After 90 days, the researchers found a 58 percent decrease in overall reported pain and stiffness as well as an improvement in physical functioning among the curcumin group compared to the controls. They also found, via a standardized testing procedure, a 300 percent improvement in the emotional well being of the curcumin patients compared with the others. And blood tests showed a 16-fold decline in C-reactive protein, a marker for inflammation. Patients in the curcumin group were able to reduce their use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs by 63 percent, compared to the other group.
That's impressive in my book...
Here's more...
Curcumin can potentially benefit you by:
-
Promoting your immune system against stress
-
Helping you maintain your healthy digestive system
-
Helping you maintain cholesterol levels that are already within the normal range
-
Promoting your healthy blood and liver functions....this is a must bc of the stress cha AAS can have on liver whether using oral or injectables
You probably already know that antioxidants are important for your health...fights aging, cancer, and other harmful oxidation by free radicals that causes damage to the inside and outside of your body
Antioxidants are also key nutrients in:
-
Supporting your memory function
-
Promoting your heart health
-
Turmeric's antioxidants help protect your cells from free radical damage
The antioxidant content within turmeric comes from active compounds called curcuminoids.
These curcuminoids deliver antioxidants that may be:
-
5 to 8 times stronger than vitamin E -- and also stronger than vitamin C ...3 times more powerful than grape seed or pine bark extract
-
Strong enough to scavenge the hydroxyl radical -- considered by many to be the most reactive of all oxidants
So now with just that bit of information...why wouldn't u won't to try it...I can say through encouragement I have started Turmeric with my daily supp....Afterall, we are in this lifestyle for longevity
There are active Eroids members that are already on this train and can vouch for the benefits...I'm hoping the stop in and give their input whether it be bad, good or whatever...thanks for reading...I hope I helped someone

Time to open the little tin back up and give it a go. I'll keep you posted. Keep learning us brother it's much appreciated. +1

+1 thanks for the helpful info... knowledge is power my man
Good article I like it. I know Tread brings it up from time to time so It's gotta be the real deal ! I'm going to look into adding this into my daily cocktail.
MakaveliCD7Thank-you brother...I just started myself....looks promising but the whole tendonitis thing makes it worth it alone!!!
AnonI find this very helpful with my current situation using hgh and it has helped me out tremendously. ...thank you for posting this
Edit
I want to publicly thank Tread M and Makevelli for helping me get some relief
Give them a vote if you find it helpful.PermalinkMakaveliCD7Ur welcome brother...glad i could help u!!
Ok guys, this has yet to be determined..... How many milligrams are in a tsp?
Lets say you want 500mgs of tumeric per day, would that equal 1 tsp, 1/2 tsp or 1/4tsp ?????
Could you buy 500mg capsules, open them up and measure to see how much? Guess that would work?? dunno
That's like asking how many pounds in a cubic foot.
Milligram = weight measure.
Teaspoon = volume measure.
But because I'm such a nice guy, I weighed 1 tsp as approximately 260 mgs ...so say about 2 tsp.
I know this writing style and the level of expertise this post has brought here. Good to have you back! I don't care what happened in the past, you have been sorely missed bro! Fr sent
MakaveliCD7Thank u brother and fr accepted...It's great to b back!!
Nice write up never really heard much about this stuff but its always good to learn about new things thanks for posting
MakaveliCD7Thanks lil bro...this stuff would b right down ur alley if u got problems with tendonitis
AnonThis is more along the lines of a "whats for dinner " post , but in my ground beef for burgers, I'll often put Cardamom, Cumin, and Tumeric ! Gives the burger an interesting sort of middle easter flavor
You want an interesting flavor Novi???? ..... let my gay uncle make you a burger
AnonHa ha
Anonhmmm lemme guess , sweet but salty at the same time ?
So is that what you were raised on ?
Lmaoooooooo Nope, his specialty.... "Shit on the Shingles"
MakaveliCD7LMFAO
Found some tumeric in the kitchen, whipped out a teaspoon and gobbled it down. How much of this do you need a day? Teaspoon by itself be enough?
MakaveliCD7Here u go guys....this is the recommended dosage according to types...
The following are doses recommended for adults:
Cut root: 1.5 - 3 g per day
Dried, powdered root: 1 - 3 g per day
Standardized powder (curcumin): 400 - 600 mg, 3 times per day
Fluid extract (1:1) 30 - 90 drops a day
Tincture (1:2): 15 - 30 drops, 4 times per day
Was wondering myself, so I googled it and 1 tsp = 2.67g This is weight not potency, not sure how they measure that.... maybe the same . So 1/2 tsp would be 1.3g
Maybe start with that twice daily.
I've been taking it for months I love it. I'm using extract form in a soft gel. Also what if u have an injury u could pour the spice In a pan with a little oil warm it up and rub it on the inflamed area
MakaveliCD7Thank u brother for that input...it seems that this supplement is the real deal
tread-mVery nice write , I appreciate the expansion and as much as I know and have read on it myself learned a little more here...that's what its all about!
MakaveliCD7Thank u T for encouraging me to try and u know i love to research things thoroughly, especially when I'm putting it in my body...It's an honor to know i was able to give u further knowledge to the guru...always glad to help where i can
tread-mI know you are brother and that's pretty special in my eyes!
MakaveliCD7Learned that from u big brother!! ;)
awesome write up, ive been seeing tread talk about it as well and really glad to have an in depth explanation to some of its benefits. this in a nutshell answered most of my questions about it, the only unanswered being how much would a "maintenance" dose be? xvbeast in his tendonitis thread said 400mg 3x a day, but that was for an existing ailment ya feel me? also, extract is the way to go right? +1 from me big bro, been waitin what seems like forever to say that to somebody lol
MakaveliCD7Tread told me to start with once a day for a week and then move up to twice a day split dose....mine is curcumin and It's dosed at 475mg a gel pill....be advised on this that more is not better on this supplement bc it can cause a drop in your blood pressure so def don't take any over the recommended dosage...and thank u lil brother...I appreciate that
juice12345678Is that you Cdaddy?
Sounds like you haha
MakaveliCD7LOL!! Yes It's me Cdaddy...that's the CD7 in Makaveli!! I take I left an impression on you....I'm back brother and glad to b back...
MakaveliCD7It's good to be home and definitely will be keeping my nose clean this go around....hopefully others learned from my mistakes and they won't get banned as well....it was lesson hard learned for sure...glad to hear u guys missed me...the feeling was mutual as well....
AnonAmazing write up, you really gave us something great here.
I also have to give special thanks to Tread. He suggested I try this about three months ago. I took it for two months and didnt think it was doing anything , but I failed to realize it was !!! I stopped for a month and got some vicious tendonitis. Just about 10 days ago I started back up again and its already helping tremendously. Tumeric is a fantasic secret !!! Thank you again Tread, and Thank you again CD7 !!!
Give them a vote if you find it helpful.PermalinkMakaveliCD7Thank u Novi for that input...that exactly what I was hoping for...experienced members giving their mark of approval or disapproval
AnonWell being skeptical ended up being the best thing for me . Going on then off and back on really let me see what it can do.
