HardBodEricWhenever i think about drinking on cycle, I remember a quote by Hulk Hogan, " I don't Drink brother, I'm a true athlete."
That motivates me to not drink.
But i will have 1 beer for the calories rarely.
AnonI dont really drink anymore. I mean a 6 pack lasts me about 6 months now , and it wasnt due to having a problem or anything , but really one or two Sam Addams or Bass while out at dinner on a Saturday night is such a big thing ?
Carguy are you talking about a scenario like that ? Or a couple of beers every night ?
MakaveliCD7Now that's moderation Novi and you wont put much stress on your body.... but going out and tying one on is a bit more stressful to the body especially if they are doing regularly
Anonoh yeah that is something my body just does not tolerate anymore. Im too old to be tying anything on except my shoes ;)
I sort of liken this situation to an occasional treat while on a diet. You know youve been right on the mark for a week or two, and just get that craving for a chocolate chip cookie. Now if that cookie turns in to a nightly thing, the diet is ruined. If the couple of beers turns in to 3 or 4 or a nightly occurance then obviously hes going to have trouble there too.
MakaveliCD7What about those Coca-Colas made in Mexico with cane syrup? LOL!!!!....u almost got me hooked on them and lost my abs!!!
AnonHaha sorry about that. Thats why I only gave you two . That one case of 24 bottles lasted me nearly a year.
MakaveliCD7No alcohol while on cycle...already enough stress going on in the body with the influx of hormones and heavy stress from muscle exertion....It's just counter-productive IMHO....there's a time and place for alcohol but not on cycle
I don't drink while I'm in cycle
Last night I slipped. Went to a wedding with my wife for her best friend and after months of not drinking the whole environment plus seeing my wife having such a great time made me say "f&ck it" and just let my hair down. We had a blast. The funny thing is that she showed me her nails on her feet this morning and they were chipped and the nail polish was flaked off. I asked her what happened and she said that I was stepping on her toes as I was "trying" to dance. LOL. I guess if I had to add to this thread I'd say alcohol doesn't add to your dancing either LMAO.
Alcohol is poison
X 2 not to mention it dehydrates your body fast!
i dont think a "couple of beers" would be bad but do you really only mean 2 or 3? because lets be honest, the vast majority of people that say "a couple" usually end up drinking far more than that. i mean, what does every drunk driver you see on tv shows say as soon as the cop asks them how much theyve had to drink ... exactly.
i havent had a drop of alcohol since 2008 so i dont gotta worry about it affecting my cycle, but my brother definitly does. the lifestyle that comes with drinking is usually one of partying, and it doesnt really line up with the AAS lifestyle ya feel me? staying up all night, going to the gym the day after feeling shitty, eating garbage ass food late night, and all the empty ass carbs and calories as the icing on the cake.
in moderation, TRUE moderation, i think its all good but its not as common imo as one might think
Old IronIf your cycle is oral your antagonizing the livers toxicity by ingesting alcohol. Plus your burning a couple hundred calories out of your daily diet; I've found it easier to pick up woman when I don't have a drink or when the waitress asks you want another and I say unsweetened tea no lemon it's an automatic conversation opener and they will always ask why your not drinking. I usually point out the biggest asshole in the place and say you gonna go home with a guy like that or a guy like me. You'd be surprised but it works..often..
its not going to effect ur gains if u drink a 2 or three beers but u ll gain fat.
Marcel1229Beer is really not that bad for you, there's actually some benefits for you
Decrease Incidence of Heart Disease!
There are more than 20 well-done, large international studies that all demonstrate the heart benefits of moderate alcohol consumption. One study, conducted by the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) noted a 20-40 percent decrease in coronary artery disease in moderate alcohol drinkers.
Hops of Vitamins!
A Dutch study showed a 30 percent increase in Vitamin B6 in beer drinkers, which makes sense because hops are loaded with this nutrient. This is good news for your cardiovascular system, as vitamin B6 helps to battle heart disease.
3.Beer Makes Your Head Clear!
That’s right: drinking the right amount of beer is good for your mental health.
The New England Journal of Medicine reported a preservation of mental acuity, especially in elderly women, who drink alcohol moderately.
Decrease in Kidney Stones!
The Journal of Epidemiology revealed a 40 percent decrease in kidney stones among beer drinkers. This is most likely secondary to the hydration from the beer since we don’t note a similar finding with other alcohol consumption.
Stroke Reduction!
Multiple studies consistently show up to a 50 percent reduction in the risk of strokes in moderate alcohol drinkers. Most notable was a study in The Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) (4).
carguy78Well alcohol any alcohol will DEPLETE the body of vitamins and also cause dehydration.that study your referring to was funded by firms that produce beer.
Marcel1229I know it's also rough on your liver, but for the hydration, you just have to drink a lot of water, and drink responsibly
A beer from time to time but nothing more. I've reached a point in my life where I have to see some real benefit in what i ingest, something that may "taste" good but is counter productive actually makes me feel like crap. And being on gear makes you more susceptible to heart disease so its important to do everything we can to bring that back back into normal. I feel like the way i eat now if i wasn't on TRT my blood work lipid panel would be a freegin masterpiece.
sgtstedankoNot much of a drinker. I'll have a beer or so, occasionally. I see no harm in having the occasional beers... Never If I'm running an oral w/cycle. But, I've honestly slipped up from time to time. W/no ill effect. According to blood work anyway. But, like I always say. We won't know w/certainty, until we dissect my liver :/
carguy78Well hopefully that won't be for a long long time
sgtstedankoHey thanks : )
I only drink when I'm off and I'm never off.
bbondsLmao, made my day brother thanks for the laugh, your a stud bb.
Wardi77haha ! I see what you did there....
Lol but honestly drinking has never been my thing. I guess I prefer my orals over alcohol, got to pic our poison you feel me.
word
Wardi77I hear you man and I can totally understand as I feel the same way. We all have our personal vices.
Wardi77I am not a fan of drinking in general, and would definitely advise not consuming alcohol while on AAS. You might not notice its effect on your gains or training, but I can assure you your liver does.
carguy78That's been my thinking to, just wondering about it. Never seen any reason to drink and waste all the money I spent on gear
Wardi77Right on, again I am gonna say that this is solely my opinion, but to me drinking alcohol in general is a waste of money, whether on gear or not. Dont get me wrong, I did my share of drinking, especially while in college but I never really liked it, more or less just had a beer or two just to feel like I wasn't an oddball, but I am way past that point and these days you will find me with a protein shake or water while in a backyard BBQ rather than beer.
