Downloading stuff for use outside of Tor?
ad
Is there a program out there to use for viewing documents outside of tor while keeping personal information safe? A document was attached to an email received via a secure email server. When I clicked to open the attached document a notification popped up asking if I wanted to download the document. Downloading the document to view outside of tor was the only option given but the notification said opening the document outside of tor could give away the computer's ip. Sounded scary...
So does anyone know of a program I should be using or do I not need to worry about this. The document is something like a form of microsoft office document and is from a trusted sender.
Thanks!

run it in a virtual machine e.g virtualbox to prevent exposure.
GearofWarTorbutton. Or alternately use virtualbox or some other virtualization software to run a VM that you can disconnect from the network while you view the file, and rollback to a safe snapshot after you have viewed the file.
much thanks. I'll check those out.
