sodium chloride (isotonic water) vs bacteriostatic water
i was wondering what people thoughts were on these two. I know they can be used interchangeably but the storage life is dramatically reduced from iso water to bac water. i have used iso water on Hcg which only gives you about a week fridge life and bac water which gives you a month fridge life. so i just got gnrh triptorelin acetate for PCT and i didnt realize it didnt come mixed till i got it. I have quite a bit of iso water on hand. the thing is with triptorelin, is you use the whole amp, you dont store. so im figuring the iso water should be fine. i ordered the bac water anyway because im going to do some peptides, bac water will be here tuesday.
so my questions are should i use the iso water or bac water? with me not needing to store it, i think iso should be fine.
your thoughts?
i guess for those who dont know i should point out the primary difference of these two
Bacteriostatic water- doesnt support bacterial growth not meant for IV injection (sub q only)
sodium chloride- same natural slat content as the human body, can be used IV (sub q and IV)
Both are modified water for mixing/reconstituting injectible meds

tread-mSo not so much what your injecting into being the issue, more so the actual bottle of SC. Keep in mind there are air born bacteria such as you see growth on your bread or things you put in the fridge etc. So what happens is you mix your growth with SC for example. Not a problem at all because you use the growth so fast, in fact, I'll not worry and mix 5 or 6 bottles of growth at once knowing it will take me maybe 10 days to use all. Never had a problem there.
So the larger concern is your 10 or 30 ml bottle of SC. You put a sterile needle in when drawing but there are still air born bacteria everywhere , always. Point is, you can introduce that bacteria into the SC bottle and begin to grow bacteria with no alc content. In fact most often you will notice, SC is really a one time use bottle for just that reason.
So here's my experience with it, I understand even the bacteria mostly will not make you sick such as most molds on food will not. Even so, you have to achieve x parts per million for most bacteria to even reach a place by where it could make you sick. What's worked for me with is I try not to keep those bottles more than a month. I know that's far outside protoco? But I've never had an issue doing so and talking thousands of pins over time. I won't even encourage that practice as bac water far superior in the "safe" aspect but often during bac shortages we settle for SC and I'm simplh saying what I've done and had no issure whatsoever with it. Maybe most important, always keep clean technique in your swabbing and environment for pinning etc. As to what you do, that's entirely on you, just sharing my personal use of it and again, I'll always opt BSW if available.
my intentions were from the on set, to use the sodium chloride because im only mixing up 1ml and im using the whole thing on the spot. you basically said exactly what i was thinking. i just wanted to hear from others on their experince and thoughts on it. thanks tread. i often like to be reassured rather than guess.
tread-mI've had no trouble with that brother, just don't keep the original SC bottle over about a month would be my advice and of course in the fridge but you know that.
bacteriostatic water adds for a better preservative due to the alcohol content
but when you dont need a preservative and it will be used immediately do you think it best just to use iso water. like in my current situation
yes. either type of water will work. the difference is really going to be in the shelf life post reconstitution.
sorry.. didn't read the entire post. just sort of skimmed it on my phone.
