Stick to your diet, cardio not a necessaity

ad

Most people have that old school mentality of to loose weight you must do cardio. In the new era we understand that it actually isn't necessary. Even getting ready for a show, alot of educated traininers are adding it into only the last two weeks of a contest cycle. This is to help loose that very stubborn weight, and this will make a differnce because such the athelte is on such a calorie defecit diet at this time those 200-400 calories will make a difference.
The bottom line is simple, everyone has the x amont of calories to hold their weight. take that number and add 500 calories to loose weight/ and or add 500 calories to that number to do a nice clean bulk. SO many people go over by thousands of calories and end up with sloppy weight.
I actually perfer to tell my clients NOT to to cardio while prepping for a show. 1. They are on such a low calorie defecit that it will just make them more tired and take away energy for them main concern which is lifting weights. DIffernce is while you do cardio, the moment your done wokring out is the moment your body stops burning calories. WHen you lift with weights, even when your not listing, your body is continously burning fat and restoring muscles. HInce why even working out with weights is more benefical then cardio to lose weight. Muscle burns fat as well, so more lean muscle one has the quicker the fat burning process begins.
If anyone tell you differnt A. THey are stuck in the old school way. B. THey are not educated and only read flex magazines. C. STubborn.
Carb cyclign is also where it is at. I can go on and on with this but just wanted to let you know, stick to your diet. I rather have my client eat healthy for a day, then go do a hour of cardio and have a junk meal during their diet.
.By the way, I dumbed this down alot so the majority of people could understand this.

No cardio while cutting is news to me, maybe I'm stuck in the old school, I've been doing it for 10 years and my results always come through, but if you have a few articles or proof, pm me i would like to look into it then make my decision. i always respected the opinions of the pros and they always emphasize on cardio when cutting.

bodybuilders also run extreme amounts of gear that result in high androgenic levels.

they also do Low intensity cardio.

i personally will -1 this cause your stuck in your way and basically stating its this way or the highway.

years and years of bro science are behind cardio and its aid in fat burning..dont be so ignorant.

I never said is this way or the higway first of all. B. I'm not ignroant I'm simply stating what I know from years and years of school. B. I went to a workshop held by NASCM specifally on this topic. WHat research have you done? o thats right.................It's called science, we learn more and more about the human body and how it works everyday. glad you got hard evidence by showing what bodybuilders did in the 70's...I also believe george farrah is also on with this modern day apppraoch, but who is he?......

congratulations that you went to a workshop bro. nobody cares. we've had plenty of copy pasters on here, and "know it alls" your can join that club. everyone who has come on this thread stating that cardio aids in fat burning you have tried to shut down by acting like a jack ass. tell me if cardio didnt work..why would people still do it? it works, period. you wanna stick to your modern diet technique right on. ill stick to the "70's" technique lol

Hey do me a favor and get an education in the field and get back to me. I do this for a living and am very good at it. You stick to reading your flex magazines and reading data far in the past. My point is I'm constantly gettin educated in the field and trying to share my knowledge. You can take it or leave it. I thought point of this site was to educate people on latest techniques. Diet .etc.

look at how you responded to members below...you think anyone is gunna care what you say when you come off like that? hell no. you can have as much education you want bro. but bottom line, facts are facts. and the fact is..cardio works.

referring to flex magazines time and time again..your stats say your 29 but you act like a child.

yes the point is to edcuate members, but let them try this out for themselves..not slam another member and trying to make them feel stupid by stating they dont know what theyre talking about and that attend seminars and workshops on "fitness" cause honeslty nobody cares...give a good write up on this and not a watered down explanation and ill gladly consider giving this a run..

I agree, doing cardio has been over rated for loosing weight but im still going to do it because "every little helps". Im just going to focus on weights more than cardio for dieting

daveman242's picture

you are 100% correct on this. I see all these people telling obese people to exercise and all they end-up doing
is hurting themselves and once they exercise they get so hungry and with no discipline its impossible to stick to their diets.

why would you want to eat more from doing cardio when you are on a calorie defciet diet? am i only one who see that makes no sense?you are limited to 2000 calories lets say. throught the day you are hungry, but can manage. why do cardio for an hour, burn 150 calories and be weak and depleted so you decide to eat a meal because this "cardio" worn you out, so now you eat 300-400 calories.....it does not help with the calorie defecit now does it?

This isn't about hating exercise. This is saying I work hard for my muscle, I eat very well and I am going to loose fat and stay lean the right way instead of wasting my time on cardio.

when your on a calorife deficit diet you dont want to eat more, and thats exactly what cardio does...so its a wash... my point exactly. Its wuit simple...you have a certain number to maintain weight, you lower the number by 500 calroies and that will have the average user droppingt 1-2 poundsd a aweek which is ideal..anything more then that is muscle. when you do cardio it increases appetite, and while doing cardio one may burn 100 -150 calories, but now you ahve an appetitie and eat 300 calories.......point being, i dont recomend cardio while dieiting.

In the fitness industry is always changing and people dont like change, i hate to tell you but cardio is not as important as you thinik it is.

yea keeping heart strong, and give stamina has nothign to do with fat loss. Doing cardio ONLY burns calories while doing cardio. When you do something like HIT, you also burn muscle! thats why you see no pro bodybuilder doing HIT. So if you want to lose fatand KEEP muscle. Your body does not know the differnce between fat or muscle when it burns it. And that is a myth that cardio burns stomach fat......wow
