22 years old, thinking about going back to school to become a Dermatologist.

Dermatology is one of if not the hardest medical degree to obtain

Go find out how hard core the competition is for derma
My suggestion would be to take a few classes to start off before diving in with a full load and do so with an open mind about other options. Also, look into volunteer opportunities in your local community hospital and/or shadow doctors in an office to see what they really do and what their day is like.
i went back at 23. sucks, but im so glad i did. almost finished now, its definitely worth it. like others said, don't wait. you're only getting older

A friend of mine and myself both decided we wanted to pursue dental school. I burried myself in bio and chem classes, while he majored in history. I studied my jock off just to make it by a couple of those chem courses (organics was a beast for me) while he cruised along making all A's studying crap like the bay of pigs invasion and the war of 1812. I got my bs in bio and environmental science and had a 3.12 gpa. He graduated with a 4.0 and got right into dental school. My advisor told me not to bother applying lol. He definitely had the right idea when it came to getting into med school.
You could always go for your masters and try applying then.

Yeah apparently they look for specific courses, not necessarily a specific major. He took challenging classes but one at a time basically. He's a great dentist now too. I'm actually very proud of him. He's gotten a bit fat though so I guess I win there.

If you can do it, I'd do it mate, I started another apprenticeship in my mid 20's and was worried about the pay drop and how'd I'd pay the mortage but It all worked out well and the change in job was a great move I'm much better off now.. your best off doing it now rather then later!!

AnonDon't wait until you are 32. Definitely don't wait until you are 42. If you wait until you are 52, I would ask you why you didn't do it when you were 22.
