Do Certain Body Types Make It Easier or Harder To Gain Muscle or Lose Fat?
My training partner and I have had this discussion for years now, and since our training and diets are so similar but our body types and genetics are so different as well as overall height difference that We believe we have come to a conclusion. I am almost 6'5" and 225 with bf fluctuating at 10-to 13%, while he is 5'5" and about 190 with bf at 18% average. We are both over 40 also. While his body type is a large chest/upper body and shorter thin arms and legs-i was always a really skinny guy with low bf all my life. It was hard for me to gain large well defined muscle groups, and gain weight without fat- but i have reached my goals with a lotta hard work and a very sensible diet. He has had to work much harder physically and his diet is very restricted-one cheat meal and blam his body just bloats up. Genetics play a role here, we know that 4 sure just by our experience and the fact that we grew up together and know each others familes. Just wanted to know what anyone elses experiences are, Thanks.

me and my best friend work out go to the gym together everyday, were on the same exact cycle, hes 6' 210 im 5'9" 194, i started the cycle at 176 he started at 201 im a naturally lean person, he isnt, hes thick with low BF and carries a good bit of muscle naturally. but i seem to put it on faster and so much better than him in every way, size and strength.
We figured it out years ago about tailoring things to our specific body types-but still found it funny that while cycling, using dbol as a kicker didnt give me any water retention-but He bloated up like the michelin man at 5 mg! He can run higher test than me without the sides, while I have to combat sides at every turn. But I can run tren, any tren with hardly any sides-while for him his b.p. shoots thru the roof.It is all about adjustment and tailoring to your own needs-
I'm an ectomorph. I have to eat so much to stay above 220. All day long I'm on the verge of vomiting, from all my intake. In my teens, I was 6'2" 170lbs. When I start to shred I look amazing. I love my body type, once I got my diet in check.
Do some searches on body types I.e exomorph, ectomorph, mesomorph. It helps to know which one you are so you can tailor your workouts and type for your body type.
No1He has a much smaller frame so obviously he needs less muscle to look huge than someone tall
