Fashion help ( double or single breasted )
ad
I dont wear a suit to work, and as it turns out I havent worn one in a few years, no weddings or funerals.
Anyway I went to try on all my old sport coats and suit jackets last night only to find them all too small accross the shoulders now.
I need to get a jacket for Saturday night.
I have always found a 2 button double breasted to flatter an athletic build , but I dont know if thats in or out or what ever .
Can anyone tell me , is a double breasted suit or sport coat still in fashion ?
I may just go with dress pants and dress shirt, but it would be nice to have at least one jacket that fit.

AnonOK brothers and sister, I went with the majority and got a single breasted this morning, actually three, and I'll have them tailored later.
Thanks to all your advice I picked this one.

Single breasted
Bro single breasted fitted. double breasted is nasty as fuck! i wear a suit to work everyday and laugh my ass off when i see people with a double breasted suit.... looks cheesy as shit!
singles are in fashion but you should wear what you feel good in and look good in.. they do still sell them
Best advice here^^^.
AnonFunny, like Gsleepy said, there deffinitely seems to be a generational thing here with the double breasted.
Sounds like in the interest of versatility though you guys are right a single will most likely serve me better.
Like you said, Double breasted flatters an athletic build.
Too bad mostly fat fucks wear suits and drive the single breasted "fashion"! LOL ;-P
I love a double breasted well made suit, and might fit into a couple of my older ones now!!
For all around use a single breasted sport coat in a neutral color, Blue, Darker Gray, Darker Tan works with almost anything, even nice jeans! Good Luck!
dont go double breasted brotha, single three button imo. different brand suits have different cuts but just get a jacket with a nice taper to it
Three button suits, in regards to fashion, are for younger men - 20's to mid 30's. With that being said, single breasted two button. Dark blues are best but complexion dictates your best color.
CleyonDouble breasted are out right now. Go with a blue single breasted sport coat and a pair of tan slacks, it's a look that never goes out if style.
AnonYeah the jacket never stays on long, but I have to walk in with something. As far as getting laid well thats happening even if I wear a members only jacket
my wife is good that way.
hmm I'll have to go try some on tomorrow, I just dont want the salesmans oppinion. Id rather get someone to tell me who isnt trying to sell me a coat.
Thanks guys, oh and ah you wouldnt be tryin to sell old novi a coat now would ya ?

depends on the event? Double is more fromal and single is more casual but the real deal is how you look and feel in each so try on both and pick the one that you think your most likely to get laid in
Ok so I say Double but, here's the thing! I think it's an age thing you and I are close in age. I would go with what the younger guys are saying.
Single def. bro.
You can't go wrong with a single breasted.
