Tennis Elbow

ad

Need your help guys...been fighting what I'm being told is plain ol tennis elbow. Well lemme tell you, it is friggin annoying. Ill be honest, i haven't really done any of my own research on this one bit I'm at work right now and felt like venting and possibly finding a cure...even though i don't think there is a cure. I figured this was best suited for the 40+ forum...haha

This will seem hard to believe but tendonitis (even chronic cases) can be quickly resolved. The problem is adhesions/scar tissue that form in the wrist extensors/flexors and preclude the various muscles from moving independently. The binding results in excessive tension and damage to the tendon where it attaches to the bone.

Find an Active Release Therapist in your area that's certified and you will be shocked at how quickly it heals. I dealt with it for more than a year until I discovered this therapy (recommended by Charles Poliquin). The therapist thought it might take 8 sessions. I was done in 2.

The beauty of this method is that you don't rest the injured area. Most people notice a dramatic improvement in 1 session.

I will tell you what I have done that helped First get some Tiger Balm and a Elbow strap and start working the tendons in your elbow by putting a rubber band aroud all your fingers and simply open and close your fingers the rubber band gives it resistance and actually works out and strenthens the elbow I had horrible tennis elbow and after 4 months of the rubber band I dont have any more pain...unless I go all out on an excersize like dumbell fly's but its only sore a couple hours and goes away. This is for tennis elbow not golf elbow.

I"ve had Tennis Elbow for more than 2 years and been battling with it since....In my case it got worse when I stopped training for several months. I tried TB500 and did not feel any difference (maybe the source). I think it depends on how bad is the injury. I had 20+ sessions with chiropractor using latest technology.massages and exercises, and just started to feel it is getting better. The pain gets worse at night during sleep. And try to AVOID the cortisone injections , cause it gets worse once the effect goes after 2-3 months. I also put ice every day for 10 Minutes. Will try Turmeric!!!

Tennis elbow or golf elbow? Tennis elbow is the outside of the elbow...golf elbow is the inside of the elbow. I have golf elbow and it flares up when I supinate my wrist like when I doing curls. You can either try and work around it or they sell elbow braces some are better than others. You will pay approx. $35 for a good one. There is also stretching exercises you can do (look on U-tube). Of course advil is a must....Good Luck

I have been through this a few times but most recently i had to take off for two months stop my cycle and PCT off... I saw a few doctors after trying everything I could to get my elbow back to no pain.. the best thing I can say is rest with lots of ice every day along with stretching the tendon in the elbow... I also got a cortisone shot for the first time about 2.5 months ago.. and with the exercises the doctor gave me I am good to go but it took 1 months of rest and 1 month of doing what the doctor showed me to do to strengthen the elbow!!! here are some links that might help.. you can PM me if you want more info on what I did to get over the injury.. the stretching I feel is what helped me the most.. so I still do it every day to make sure that I will not have to deal with this again!!!!

I went through this about 4 months ago. There are anti inflamatories and pain killers (alieve) but the best medicine is to lay off it. If its tennis elbow you get the most pain with overhand exercises like with outward delt raises or French curls ( overhand curls) ? Drop in weight and up the reps. Rotate hands to underhand delt raise and all curls underhanded. There's a strap with a gel pad for tennis elbow that you can buy at Walmart or any Rx. Wear it all day every day but don't sleep with it. If you don't lay off it or work around it, it could hang around for a long time. Think of it as a reason to work on your wheels. Squat like you've never swatted before lol. Buy the strap seriously and place the pad up high on the top of theforearm towards the elbow. Adjust it to where you feel the most relief. Hope this helps! Good luck

Have any of you guys had success with forearm exercises??? Sorry to hi-jack your thread Goliath.... but I have issues with my inner right elbow, been like that for years... wrist rollers, forearm curls seem to help for a while, then BOOM... mfer will kill me for a few weeks, maybe a month, then nothing, don't even realize its there???? I mask it with DMSO, but that shit burns my skin like crazy....

I have taken TB-500 for about a month, my paid in down 90%. I did heat/ice, Alieve, bands, etc for over a year and kept re-injuring it. This stuff really works. Google it to read more.

Its always a good idea to do your own research. Some doctors really really suck and can misdiagnose you. I diagnosed myself with a sprain and slight dislocation in the sternoclavicular joint. I was then referred to the local hospital by my school. The dumbasses told me it was just an infection and gave me a cortisone shot in it. Needless to say I went to a sports medicine shoulder specialist, and I was completely right.

Ice, 1000 mg Ibuprofein, dont do muscle specific exercises that inflame it and rest. Its a time thing. good news it will eventualy get better bad news it is perminant and you will always have to be aware of it so once it does get better you dont reiritate it. stretching, massaging, continued ibuprofen extensive warming up help me.

Switching hands once in a while helps. Lol! Rest is the best way to let the swelling go away. My buddy uses one of those forearm straps. Ice ir after gym...get the swelling off.

Time and controlled lighter workouts! Everytime you stress it too much you start the healing clock all over again. I am just to the point now that I can curl and pull heavier without pain! Which took 1 year! :-(

stretching is key. massage forearms, stretch, lay off overusing them (it's typically known as an 'overuse' injury), epsom salt bath, look into kinseo-tape, there are band type trigger point pressure bands that go over your forearm that can help.. a combination of these techniques will help and make it heal and go away.. R.I.C.E. if there is severe pain.. ok this should get you in the right direction.. let me know if you need some specific help as I'll need a lil info.

also do a test.. bend your arm all the way and left it up like your going to do a triceps stretch, place your thumb behind your elbow (where tricep inserts) you'll feel the tendon and muscle junction applly firm pressure with your thumb.. on a scale of 1-10 what is the pain when doing so? hopefully this makes sense, I've never typed it out, only done it in person kinda thing.
