Building muscle and body fat
So you want to grow? imho the only way to go is from a already lean state. I dont know why some chose to build muscle on an high body fat build. Belive it or not if your trying to put on muscle at 10% bf its going to be an up hill battle. Fact you grow best from a lean state as your insulin sensitivity and hormones are way better when you are lean, test to estrogen ratio is better when your lean, and growth hormone output is better when lean, also nutrient partioning is better when lean. So if your walking around at over 10% bf your one and only goal should be to drop this bf into the single digits via diet and cardio. Once you get your bf low enough like say around 5-8%, you can begin to increase food intake and watch how fast you put on lean muscle tissue. You must do this slowly cause if you just start over engorging then you will put on fat very quickly but, if you can find your sweet spot calorie wise you will put on muscle like never before.

thanks you just made my mind up im thinkin start next bulk soon thinkin maybe i could drop some fat bulking iv been on holidays and with beer and local cuisine and no gym 4 weeks iv gotten very soft but think 3 weeks dieting would be way to go first im about
Are you saying 10% bf is not lean? Damn I'm fat lol.
Everyone has different goals and if 10% bf is good enough more power to you. Im just saying for the best results a lean body structure is optimal.
Last month I was measured at 8%. I'm taking in 5k calories a day. Gains are slow and steady but apparent. I don't know that I've ever been above 10% bf. The life of an ecto morph. My body is like a furness. I miss a meal and I feel it an hour later. But I believe in what you're saying. Besides the facts and science behind your post, I wouldn't want to pack on heavy bf during a bulk. I'd rather gain 8lbs if lean mass than 25 in a dirty bulk. Lucky for me I can't hold bf. The only thing I really keep an eye on is sugar and salt intake. I make sure to get 200G of protein (at least 3/4 from food) and plenty of complex carbs. I'll have to pick your brain a little in the near future.
haha im working backwards give me 5 more weeks
StevebIts hard for me because I am taking EQ, and I want to eat everything.
Haha Try potatoes bro, they are low on cal and fill you up.
StevebSweet potatoes
CleyonBut high in starch! I get horrible cramps if I eat too much starch before I lift. Just a cautionary note.
yea i tried to bulk at 14% and it didnt turn out well for me, lesson learned after 10 weeks of hard cutting and about another 2 to go to break 10%
Once you break into the single digits you'll be able to see every gained muscle fiber, this is when your body changes right before your very eyes
cannot wait!
is it just that you can see it better because you are so lean, or you actually build more muscle from a lean state?
CleyonIt's more than you can actually see what changes are taking place, but also you don't get fooled by the fat into thinking that a muscle group is bigger than it really is. I've done it completely wrong before, and it is frustrating to see what is really underneath the fat.
Hey im at 12% bf .You calling me fat! Lol
Maybe
I perfectly understand what your saying but then you got these guys 18+bf% and up .That think they can just hop on a cycle and turn into Phil Heath overnight.I dont wanna be the guy to wash away this pipe dream when in reality they will accomplish nothing more then rounding out the edges and they swear that aas will solve everything.Point is if you dont have consistensy or routine or feel obligated to hit the gym the track the bike or just do something to improve your physically well being through movement .Then aas is not your cup of tea.
Agree.
