CBL carb back loading anyone?
so for the past year i kept hearing about carb back loading. it has really picked up lately and i see more and more people doing it. CBL is for the most part the anabolic diet modified IMO.
i did read the book and i must say even if you dont want to follow CBL; reading the book will inform you on a lot and give you a better idea on insulin and hormones in the body and how you can take advantage of these hormones. they change through out the day; so based on this you can optimize the results of muscle growth and fat burning using the foods you eat, and when you eat them.
i have been back loading for the past 2 months and lost about 2 percent body fat and all my lifts went up. currently i am on nothing other than the supplements he recommends in the book. i just want to see if anyone here has tried it and how is it going???

I've read some stuff on this before...and part of me doesn't quite understand it OR I just found it so odd that I didn't want to understand it. Also, it seemed very dependent on a VERY set schedule of when to eat these carbs and not those ones. I remember something about every nine(?) days or something, you gorge yourself on cake and pizza and shit?? Very backwards to what the traditional method states as the times to eat. I need to learn more about it...because honestly I am getting pretty sick and tired of the diet that I've been raging on for years now, lol.
samick94yes the prep phase requires you to go on no carbs at all other than 30grams max. on day 10 you start the back loading. as long as you stay on track you can pretty much as much crap as you want and still lose weight. i love this as my off season diet. this is the longest period of time i have gone still being able to see my abs. but the key is you MUST eat hi-gli carbs like DD or pizza. lately i have been eating muffins and donuts, just cuz that what i craze right now

I think that's what it was...I was "scared" away by that prep phase. I just don't like the sound of going so low on carbs for over a week.
Who knows though...I really don't know much about it, so I am weary of things I don't know...lol, sound familiar about anything? I always have said this about steroids and the general population...they are misinformed and uneducated, which makes them afraid and when someone is afraid/scared of something they don't understand, they scorn it...sounds like me right now

samick94the prep phase is hard, but its no different than when i am coming in close on a show. i have gone on low carbs for 2 weeks and almost no fats. with this diet it is easier!! you can eat fats and bacon ect. i sent you a PM. if you want more info ill send it over.
i was scared too! haha big time lol! it went against everything i studied, what i learned in college ect. i studied nutrition and am finishing up my RD but i said fuck it ill try it out. and i love it! he uses evidence and explains why he wants you to do certain things. looking back i have to say my teachers were clueless i learned alot more from reading this book than what i learned in some of my nutrition classes. i would really read the book, it wont hurt you it will only help. and if you want to try the diet DO IT!
