+ 2 PMS and training
ad
I've noticed a few days before the beginning of my menstrual cycle, I find it really hard to train. My energy is decreased, and it feels as though I haven't been in the gym for months! Tonight I think I trained too hard I made myself sick. I know with all the changes in hormones levels and changes in my body is the main cause. I'm curious if other women experience this and how they deal with it/work around it or if there's something that will help? Any thoughts, ideas?

I think the main thing is to make it to the gym and get that release of endorphins going.. Honestly, I haven't had this issue for several years and am on hormone replacement so I am able to make adjustments as I need them ..
Even though I feel like crap, I still make sure I make it to the gym. I feel like hell afterwards but at least I have the satisfaction of being there and training the hardest/best I could!
I know it isn't easy to get there.. training your mind is just as important as training the body ..
Very good advice!! It's sometimes harder to train your mind than your body!
I'm only chiming in because I saw the PMS portion of ur title. Native American women and Mexican have been using Black Cohosh for a very long time for PMS/menopausal relief. It is also used as a form of HRT for women nowadays. It has anti-inflammatory benefits and stress relief. It is know to cause upset stomach and headaches. Its also used in men to relax and calm. I have used it as part of a tonic I use for sedation. Basically when used in conduction with other natural remedies it can help aggressive men keep from having those "moments" we always seem to do and instantly regret after we've said or done them.
Hmm, I've never heard that before. I'll definitely check it out! Yeah, women could benefit from the "moments" as well... We definitely aren't saints during this time! Haha!
Lol..i dont know what ur talking about...its the men that bring it out..i was fine otherwise ;) In all seriousness..totally agree with GRRRL. Mind over matter honey! Yeah it sucks..yeah ya feel weak as hell...but u r at the gym and killin it as best u can. That is way better than the guilt of feelin bloaty and eatin a tub of ice cream in front of a tv. Ya gotta fool ur brain! I might not feel like i had a fab dabilous workout but i feel like i at least worked out!
Haha, so true! There is so much satisfaction from eating a tub of ice cream but then the guilt sets in! I've been killing it this week at the gym, even though its only Tuesday. I've been trying to focus on my training and my goals rather than the symptoms.
;) thats how its done sista!! The positives SOOO outweight the negatives! You keep ur eyes set on the finish line!! (There is no finish line but u strive to reach it anyway). Eye of the Tiger! ;)
