Let's not get too crazy by posting your UIC or unit or even locations, unless of course you're retired or ex.
Curious to see where our fighters are at.

TO all Veterans here on Eroids I hope you all have a great weekend. You are all great men in my book and appreciate everything you did and do for this country.

Bridgeport was bad ass for our Cold weather/ mountain training. I got put on an op for like a week on the top of a mountain. The only shitty thing was a hill storm that came through. Other than that it was awesome being away from the rest of the battery for a week. And at the end they brought like 30 kegs for all the people that were there. I was drunk after 2 beers hahahaha
I did a cold weather training package in bridgeport! No fucking joke brother, snow caves, home made snow shoes, a rabbit to split between 2 for the whole week we are there. It snowed on us for 5 days straight and they didnt even come take us out, just came by once a day to say hi. elevation 9600 and they had the nerve to tell us we could eat anything we caught! LMAO, wasnt nothing stupid enough to be there but us.
My first four years was stationed in Alaska. Still one of my favorite duty stations!Ive climbed up mountains, well they caled them "hills" in Alaska, where it was slightly rainy at the bottom and full blizzard at the higher elevations lol I ended up being the Artcic survival Trainer my last year. You can get alot of heat in those snow caves with just a little candle. people still don't believe it.
I think my biggest problem was I flew from the tropics and went straight into snow, it was not cool at all.
LOL hell no I bet it wasnt. I had the reverse happen. Winter just hit and we did Cobra Gold in Thailand about died when the jump doors open after our in flight rig. Form cold to humidity of thailand. Still one of my best trips anywhere with the army though.
AnonGotta love this:

Had this happen to me in 04, can't believe they're still having these issues 8 years later. Unexcusable but not surprising. We give up our freedom, our lives and our families so others don't have to. Yet, we are unable to exploit our given rights as Americans to vote. As Military members our vote should count more than the average civilians. We have earned our rights and the outcome of this election will have more profound effects on our lives than it will the every day American.
Sorry I'm ranting but it pisses me off to see this shit happen.
This bullshit is nothing new it was going on in 88-96 when I was in. By now you know it is a deliberate effort to circumvent our votes, and not an issue that they are interested in fixing.

dont you just miss MRE's we used to make mustard bombs lol!!
With tabasco? lol I never miss the MRE
they were good except the potatoes o graton or how ever you say it we called them potatoes are rotten! those where some sick puppies right there.
Loved the meatloaf.
there was a barbecued pork and chicken and rice that was the shit. but man when your in the field for months all that shit starts tasting the same no matter what you do to it.
AnonEver try roasting that BBQ over an open fire? Delicious, at least it is when you haven't eaten or slept in 4 days and it's so cold your canteens freeze. God damn I don't miss that.
It beats dead dog and bugs
fuck brother we where doing a simulated war amongst platoons, me a another guy was in a fox hole, dead of winter, cold as fuck, we had been up for awhile. through a blanket over the top of us and fell asleep. SSGT woke us up, pissed off took all our warm clothes, left us with boots, pants and a tee shirt and said good luck sleeping now. Yeah there was no sleeping after that, LOL thought I was gonna freeze to death, praying for sun to come up! funny shit now but at the time FUUUUCCCKKKKK it sucked!
Ha ha - that's the shit - I fell asleep during a long-ass MOPP4 exercise and our lieut. stole my f'n 50 cal ... Oops!
Chili Mac was my shit hahaha fuck I hated the field.... 29 palms blows. The week I got out my battery went for a 45 day e-Mohave viper. Haha
yep and thats why there is always hot sauce.lol I loved me some cheese tortellini though.
Lmao! So true, I was pinned down in my nest for 3 days and was licking the foil of my mre. I thought at that point it was a gourmet meal lol.
AnonUS Army...11 Series, Rangers lead the Way!
ThunderLightgood work guys, respect
USMC!
AnonI'm guessing the USMC is a little more pro AAS than Army. SOF community is all about aas but your average line unit see's a 145lb guy who can run a 10 min 2 mile and do 90 push ups as being a stud.
when I was in the shit was still legal! :)...they used to have some stupid ass way of determining if you where overweight, had to do with something about your neck size! LOL I cant remember exactly but I do remember guys being big as hell failing cause their neck was to big...The whole time I was in I was into sparring, kick boxing, jujitsu, wrestling, boxing, what ever shit you knew is what I was doing. With that and the corps exercise I never could get over 165. But I could blow threw PFTs, hikes, all that shit. I was on fort sill for several months, got to know some good army dudes, had a fucking blast with them cats man, got a bunch of us together and went and rented a paintball site for war games, we shot each other up all fucking day. they had some bad asses running around that fort too. AAS wasnt my thing just yet, its was play hard party hard back then.
AnonI hear ya. I didn't get into AAS until half way through my enlistment. Naturally I was able to hold 225 and still max PT test. Was into all the same shit, once age started catching up I started to get slower and found it harder to recover. That's when I went to AAS and hit a new level of fitness. Then I got tired of running and said fuck it, let's get big
your all to right there.
300 Pft don't mean shit.... I ran one, but it's a fucking joke.

Hey sailor, wasn't Crane Division by any chance?
Crane division!!! Hell no NSWC Stands for Naval Special Warfare Command Yo! Today you young bucks know it as Special Ops!!! lol Things have changed so much...I miss the old days!
I am older than you my brother lol. You mean "NSW". NSWC is the acronym for Naval Surface Warfare Center. We served at the same time, I was in from 88-96. I too was NSW! And I hear you about the old days.
All propositions should be done through PM's LOL!
AnonHAHAHAHA
You know why sailors have their names on the back of their pants right?
Okay, I'll bite. Why do sailors have their names on the back of their pants?
AnonSo the Marines know who they're fucking.
Haha, Be all you can be!
