What dictates the length of a cycle ?
ad
I understand the minimum end on a cycle having to do with enough time to experience gains from different compounds, but what dictates when to stop ? I just finished my first cycle and ran it for 16 weeks, but why not 20, why not thirty ?

Cycle length is by goals and drugs used. Too long is harder shutdown. Harder recovery.
Joint pain.....all joints or just knees? Stats....lets chat
Anonfast, my joint pain is the result of many years struggling with lyme disease. I had it pretty bad, had neurolgical symptoms, slurred speech, joint and body pain etc etc. I believe Ive got the lyme under control now but it seemed like, the joint pain was with me for life. Worst pain in the shoulders and ankles. Im 43 and just thought living in pain for another 40 is not something I look forward to. Im still just so happy to have had the past 12-14 weeks of my 16 week cycle as a pain free life.
cdaddy7Wow bro sorry to hear that about the lyme disease. So you have what they call lyme arthritis. Im sure that your MD has run u thru the mill with NSAIDs and other pain reliefs.
My buddy got his relief thru cannabis treatment. He does construction so no worries over urine tests. I was hoping that you had just a lil creaketty going on where glucosamine/crondroitin therapy would help. Or the basic shoulder or knees. Powerlifter buddy that'd over 50 swears by horse linament. Lyme is getting very common and its debilitating.
cdaddy7I was hoping too bro and when I saw he said Lyme disease well thats really serious joint pain
AnonDuring a severe attack the pain and discomfort was so severe and long lasting that very dark thoughts start running through your mind. I have to boys though and would never do anything to leave them high and dry though.
In any case I do think I have finally gotten past the point of severe attacks, I think Im under control with the lyme, its just left me with some nasty arthritic type stuff.
Thanks for the advice , you see Im not in this for 24 inch biceps just to get my life back where I want it.

cdaddy7I would have only ran it for 12 weeks on my first cycle, but the reason is you have to give your body a chance to recover from the surge of tesosterone and estrogen fluctuation. Your cortisol levels lower with extended periods of anabolics and weakens your immune system. Your body was shocked into growth and strength at an accelerated speed. This creates stress on joints, ligaments, cartilage, and tendons because your body cant keep up with the extreme strength gains. Your muscles grow big, but because of the lack of blood to the ligaments and cartilage, they do not grow and adapt to change fast enough and can leave you with an injury. There are also other issues like your heart, kidneys, liver and others. Your blood pressure can get ot of control and put you at risk for a stroke or worse. Your body needs just as much time off cycle as it was on cycle. This gives your body a chance to return to what is called homeostasis, its natural balance. You have suppressed the normal functions of your testes and longer periods of suppression can run the greater risk of hypogonadism. A condition that your nuts don't make enough sperm and test. Testicular cancer comes to mind, too... The other part is the estrogen factors which include gyno and other nasty side from high levels. On cycle is the best ride in the world, but like any other ride you must get off or it won't be fun anymore. Know your body and its limitation. Cycle smart, not hard because if you do you will have plenty of cycles left in you to achieve your goals.
AnonAh the voice of reason and knowledge, nice to hear from you cdaddy.
Now Im not trying to be argumentative, but I had the issue of not just feeling the rush of the ride , but the absence of pain I have lived with now for years . What do you think about the joint/body pain before cycle, not on cycle, then returning after cycle ?
See my goals going in to this were not to achieve a particular size, but to see if I could just simply get my body to feel good.
Anonbtw I am asking because the real reason I entered the world of AAS was joint pain, for years I had severe pain, woke up feeling like my body was broken and beaten like rodney king every day. I have felt so amazing on cycle with no more pain. Its been 10 days now since my last test e injection and about 16 days since my last Deca and the pain is all rolling back in. Nothing as severe as it was, yet. It was just so nice to wake up and not feel "broken",
cdaddy7The reason your joints felt so good is because Deca actually lubricates them so I know what you mean, but unfortunately deca long term sides would def override the benefits of lubrication.
AnonThanks, I guess I will just look forward to the next cycle then. Sorry my last question crossed with this answer.

Have you been diagnosed with any joint disease like RA, OA, degenerative joint disease? Reason I ask is because the way you describe it is not normal. I mean I am pretty much 39 shortly and I have more aches and pains, they started after 35 for me. But I still feel good. I have to take a little more advil and tylenol than others and occasionally I have to go get cortico-steroid injections in my joints and back but I can still train and feel good. Im just wondering whats going on with you on that avenue
AnonI had severe lyme disease. I believe Ive got the lyme under control now after about 9 years, but its left me with a lot of pain. Before my cycle I would wake up every night feeling like my arms were being torn from my body. Ive had mild relief from naproxin . The past 12-14 weeks of my 16 week cycle felt so wonderful to not have the pain.
cdaddy7I really feel for you bro. I cant imagine the pain from Lyme arthritis. I do know that there is a Deca gel out there on the market. Just speculating that u might could bring this to the attention of your MD and discuss the options of using this as a conjunctive treatment with TRT. And thats even saying that you have TRT. Its worth you researching. I will do whatver I can to help you
AnonI havent told my GP that I cycled. Ive been to three GPs, and infectious disease specialist, the ER and a homeopathic dr. None have ever recommended steroids, talked about deca, or anything I have found. I have found I really just have to find stuff out on my own.
At this point I think time is all I need, to just find out what my body is going to do. Ive enjoyed the experiment so far and had better results doing this than any scrip they've ever written me.
Thanks, really Thanks for everything.
