Here’s some tips for all you neat groom’n newbs that are cutting the hell out of your skin and living with razor burn as you shave down the hair to get to the clean muscle.

First of all, razors are very expensive. Especially the ever popular Mach 3 and Gillette 5 etc. Many people leaver their razors in the shower, which is one of the main issue because the steam dulls your current blade (and if you’re like me, the new replacements you keep in there too). Between every shave put a little “wicked shaving oil” across the blade before you get out of the shower. It will preserve its sharp and smooth shaving edge for about 5 times the normal use. Since replacement blades run about $12-$25 bucks a pack you'll save quite a bit.

Here is the biggest tip I can give newbs and veterans. Ditch the shaving gel, cream foam or whatever it is you’re using. Lather up some hair conditioner on whatever it is you’re shaving (well, it doesn’t really lather). Not only will it be a smoother shave but also it eliminates 90% of razor burn and need to apply multiple applications of gel. Lastly, stop going to the water and rinsing every two seconds. With each stroke “shaving” apply a little less pressure when going back to the starting point but keep the blade pressed to your skin. This will empty many of the shavings on to your skin instead of having to rinse all the time. It’s a similar motion as if you were scratching an itch but with a shaving razor in position to shave.

Anyway, the main points of this post are the “wicked oil” and hair conditioner. It will make a HUGE difference in your budget for razors and your shaving experience. I'm really interested to know if anyone else has used hair conditioner for shaving their body. NO HOMO!!!

Some of the BEST tips ANYONE can receive to stop the nicks when shaving:

BEFORE you lather yourself up, remember to wash you skin with HOT water. NOT scorching hot water that leaves your skin glowing red hot, just hot water.

Lather yourself up, and WAIT a few minutes to allow the lather to soften your skin.

(Now here's the BEST tip ANYONE will get that stops you cutting yourself).

Never, EVER shave down OR up with the grain when shaving the neck.

ALWAYS SHAVE ACROSS THE HAIR.

Lift your chin up, as if you're pushing your chin to the ceiling. Start from the middle, where your Adam's Apple is, and shave diagonally across the hair.

You will get one of the smoothest shaves you have ever had, whilst maintaining a sharp razor, because the blade is not having to fight against the natural growth lines of your hair.

I was taught this method from a top barber in London, UK years ago and I have NEVER cut my throat while shaving since.

BELIEVE ME, GUYS. IT WORKS Smile

I have the smoothest huckleberries that fell from the ticket oak. Its all about shaving against the grain with a good old school gel. As for the nether regions, when it comes to doing the dirty my girl takes care of it. Range of motion seems to be limited these days and reaching that is about as possible as me sitting through a Nickelback concert. Hell she could shave pictures back there for all I know but hey, I think its slick.

Conditioner works good on the face too. Wouldn't do it in the locker room or community shower tho or they might think something else. Total HOMO.

Thanks brother! I'm not sure about Walmart. Here's a pic tho. It might take 15 minutes or so to show because of tracking info etc. The damn thing posted sideways too but oh well.
