Did I fuck up my injection?
I've been injecting 2mL of Test E into my quads for months now, with literally NO pain during the injection, or even on the day of the injection. I'd get a little PIP 2-3 days later, and that was it. Today's injection (ten minutes ago), however, was different.
- The needle actually hurt going into my thigh, which was never the case before.
- The injection itself hurt while it was going in, which was never the case before.
- There were two full droplets of blood after the injection, which wasn't the case before - I might get a tiny little speck, but that's it. Now I had two full drops of blood.
- It's 10-15 minutes after the injection, and there's already some pain in my thigh - which never used to happen until a day or two later.
Keep in mind that I aspirated the needle and there was no blood, so I assumed I was good to go even though the injection hurt. What are possible causes for the pain and blood? Maybe I'm just being paranoid, but I can't help but think I might've injected into a part of my thigh I shouldn't have, or that my hand was shaking (which I don't think it was, but whatever) and I might've moved the needle around while it was in my thigh.
I've always been careful with placing my injections and have done so successfully for a long time - to the best of my knowledge I didn't do anything differently than usual, but it hurts.

Haven't you guys noticed how when you start a cycle and inject in the quads mostly, the first time it's a breeze but after a couple of weeks you pin in and all you find is veins and pain?
BTW, I think I've found a sweet spot in the upper middle part of the thigh but even then it still takes me a couple of tries everytime.
The area you hit may have contained a nerve and a vessel. Consider the size gauge you are using. Not that it would make much difference in reducing the chances your injection issue would happen again, but I found that 23g @ 1 inch works smoothly in my thighs. Whenever I catch a nerve or vessel, I follow up with an anti-inflammatory in anticipation of the pain so I can get out of be the next morning. Also, if I get a long bleeder, I apply pressure to the area to slow it down and slowly massage the area to keep the sauce in the spot. Be careful dude and don't give up yet.
AnonBeen getting the same thing recently in quads... I've been pinning them nearly every day of the week ( some days I pin 2x... ) and now it's actually hurting quite a bit while pushing in the needle, there seem to be little "knots" of what I'm assuming is scar tissue ( ? ) all over my legs since I hit about 4 spots on each thigh. They still eat the fluid just fine I never limp but the injections themselves are getting quite painful, and I KNOW I'm not hitting veins, I've hit them before I know what the deal is... yet while I'm waiting for the oil to disperse before pulling out the pin, some blood is going into the pin.... Not sure what to make of it. I also get pain immediately after but it goes away within an hour or two and doesn't come back, all that's left is a little tightness.
This morning my quad locked up during the shot.... finished it anyways but I was light headed from trying to aspirate while the muscle was tightened up THAT hurt. Had to just sit there for a bit. Unrelated but figured I'd share that, it the worst pin of my life lol.
I have had the same thing happen with quads. you probably touched a nerve or injected really close to one. When I pin quads I push the needle in very slowly after breaking the skin. By doing that you can feel if you are about to hit a nerve. Try inserting the needle very slowly . Doesnt hurt any more then doing it fast.
AnonI used to be able to tell like that also, but now it pretty much always hurts like hell anyways so I just do it... Not sure what to make of that.
yeah I know what you mean. at first i was able to just push it in.thats why i started going slow because of the pain.only happens in quads. it seems like a common thing.
Here is where I am at. I pin my quads all the time but I pin at the top of the quad about 5 inchs above knee. I was looking at a site injection page and seen where they where injecting on the side of the quad so I figured I would try that out. That was Friday. Last night I could barely stand and it was a motherfucker getting to the front door to piss. Bathroom was way to far away. I was up most of the night in pain. I took a bunch of advil and finally went to sleep. I woke up feeling 1000 x better but still hard to walk. I am hoping tomorrow I will be fine but I had to skip legs and that blows. I think what has happened is I shot close to a never and as the oil expanded my leg it put pressure on the nerve. So only thing I can do is wait for swelling to go down and then I will be normal again. My leg has not swelled up and there isn't heat in it. So I am not worried just in pain. Also the needle hurt when I went in and I pulled it out and hit another spot that felt a little better but still more pain than usual. Good luck to ya.
Man, fuck that! I would quit if I had to deal with that shit. I'm lucky to have gotten some minimum pain gear.
the gear I have has been smooth as can be. This has been a 1 time deal. Only time I have ever had this much pain is with a infection from bunk gear I got a long time ago.
Oh okay, may have been a nerve like mentioned.
I am telling you if I wasn't such a fucking bad ass I would have cried last night.lol.Wife wanted to take me to hospital.
I'm the same way with injuries/pain. I tough that shit out regardless.
The sustanon i tried at xmas was horrible for quads. Five days of pimp limp. Gf hit glutes for me for rest of cycle. When ya do get that nerve pain like that....holy hells
lpetThanks for the replies everyone, it's good to know that these things just happen from time to time. Injecting close to scar tissue, a vein or a nerve all sound like reasonable possibilities. I'm not stressing nearly as much as I was a few minutes back; thanks!
ViciousWorkoutsYou probably hit a vein or something man, I get that sometimes too. The other day it was very sore inserting and during the release of chem into my skin...
Frankiesounds like you have gone very close to a nerve (if you hit a nerve direct you will know anout it)
not much you can do about it now tbo
one of the problems about quads is there full of nervs and blood vessals .
I've seen some the vets on here mentioned that over a long series of injections that every once in a while you will have an injection that is painful like so. I think it's possible scar tissue? As for the blood, I've never have any blood at all. What size of pins are you using?
lpetI'm using a relatively small needle for quads - 25 gauge. And I want to specify it wasn't quite bleeding/dripping blood, but there were two well-sized drops of blood at the injection site that I'd never gotten before.
It's definitely a relief to hear that it happens to more experienced users as well, though. Thanks!
Edit: I should add that I use one-inch needles.
And hopefully not hitting same spot on quads. High...low...mid rotation.
lpetThat's an interesting point, since I've been injecting in more or less the same area (high/outer quads), just rotating legs every week so that I don't pin the same leg more than once every two weeks. I'm definitely going to start switching up the injection sites now.
Hitting close to same spot can cause cysts etc. The oil needs time to fully absorb. Have you hit glutes as well to give legs rest? I can't reach mine...short n stocky...so Gf helps. In forums there is site inj charts and links to help.
I've only pinned 5 times in my life now (first cycle), but the first time I did (also with a 25 gauge in the quad) I got about a 1/4 inch in and had to take it out it hurt so bad. I moved the spot up a bit and it slid in like butter.
I really think you're fine. Just move the spot and try again. Good luck!
