AnonNOOOO don't do it. um, ok. Lets see, your everyday average bc pill, (because of the progestins) will cause you to gain weight. This is a purely case by case issue though and it affects individuals differently. If you want to use an IUD I highly recommend a plain copper one with no hormones. You will not be subjecting your endocrine system to more confusion this way.. On a personal note, I have the mirena and am having it removed. It completely shut down my system throwing me into a virtual menopause. With consequent HRT required to function as a normal person.. .. right now my system is re-setting itself and I am totally out of wack.. not fun at all.
