+ 1 Advise on cycle for strength gains...
ad
Let me start off by saying I have no desire for body building. Im simply looking to get over a plateau and make some real strength gains. 40 years old now. 6’6” and 240. 15% BF. I’ve done a couple cycles in the past and am looking for something geared a little more toward my desires to build strength. I squat twice a week and deadlift once a week and will do chest and accessories twice a week between the squats and deadlifts. Looking for advice from those with long time history. Thanks so much.

Obviously there are a lot of things you can do with GEAR and workouts, but I'll leave that advice to others. Diet is essential to get stronger and a lot of guys don't pay attention to that. Red meat makes you strong as it produces a lot of red blood cells.
Milk is also a source of strength albeit it may make you get a lil too fat.
Thank you. Chicken and rice gets pretty old fast. Hahahahaha. I drink a fair amount of milk. I can’t have too much or I have bowel issues.
jayiskBuy wet wipes and man up.
lol fucking hell jay.
Are you looking for rep ranges or drug compounds
Define your version of strength, it could mean a thousand things. Strength training is conditioning not drugs.
Are you trying to do PR's?
Are you not adding at least 5 pounds per week to your lifts?
In other words what good is doing drugs to get stronger when its an inflated strength? Do more conditional lifting and go heavier each week.
I’m following programs in cycles. Generally starting with 70% my 1 rep max and working through the program up to 95% the 1RM before attempting a new PR. Reps never go higher than 5 and vary between singles, triples, and 5 depending on the number of sets and percentage of 1RM. Each workout cycle lasts about 8-10 weeks before attempting a PR. Hope that makes sense.
Throw out all those "get strong quick" guides. Look up strength training. I bought a book on it that explained the principles of strength and how to work on tje nervous system. Its called "the strength training anatomy" part 1 and 2.
What time of day do your workout. Hiw many meals do you have before workingout. What do you eat an hour before the gym. Do you use a carb powder during your workout or no. I think we need to know more about your diet then your cycle
I usually lift between noon and 3. I work nights so it varies depending if I work the night before or not. I eat a bowl of cereal and a couple pieces of toast with peanut butter 1/2 hour before the workout. I don’t eat too much because I hate trying to keep down food while I’m lifting. After lifting I ride the spin bike for 10 minutes and then head home for a full meal. I have tried many protein drinks but they always leave me feeling full and gassy and I don’t want to eat real food for a while until it all passes.
Your preworkout meal sucks man
jayisknot bad if he was 10 yrs old. anything more than that makes his stomach feel to full to workout.
Now that was funnyp
jayiskMaybe this will motivate him to eat and get his bench up....lol

Holy shit. I wonder how many bowls of cereal she eats preworkout
jayiskBowls? She eats those giant size family boxes at the outlet stores.
Crazy she has a solid bench set-up at 15 yrs old.
Haha
No shit man. Ive been lifting for 15 years and cant do 355
So the last cycle you did was 250mg Test Cyp & 150mg Tren ace per week? Then before this you have just done one run consisting of Test / Deca / Dbol?
Yes that’s correct. The tren made me lose fat but still managed to gain a little weight. I got a little stronger on it but I wondered if I should have done more tren but the recommendation was to try 50 eod and see how I did on it.
Buddy 150mg Tren ace per week isn't going to do anything, start at 50mg ED meaning 350mg/wk but even this is still a starter dose for strength purposes - especially for someone who is 240lbs. You shouldn't even be concerned about or watching for losing bodyfat, this is about building muscle and strength. The Test needs to be way higher also for having enough energy and power for a proper powerlifting workout. 500mg is where you should be at initially. Try bumping to those two figures just for now and I garauntee overnight your numbers will rise.
EDIT: Why were you even running Tren on a second cycle anyway - it was way too soon? Now the problem is you have exhausted things too early - a very heavy unnecessary first cycle and now needing to up the dose on a third.
Out of curiosity what do your numbers look like for Bench & Deadlift to see where you are at with things? Then we can see if you need to even be running tren at all ....
Thank you for the tren advice. I was afraid the dosing was not enough but I started with what most people said to start with for a first time. I had no sides from it so I would like to try it again with a more appropriate dosing sometime
I’m benching 315 for 5 singles right now and deadlifting 525 for a single. Squats seem to be my nemesis as I can only do 310 for a single despite working them hard twice a week. The bench has stalled. Deadlifts are still slowly going up and squats don’t seem to be going anywhere either. Snatch is 225 but I’m just getting into them and clean and jerk is 275. I feel that my twig legs are the inhibiting factor
jayiskFor strength you have already taken the most commonly used gear for PL.
But you cant say you try to eat and cant. if you are natty or on gear you need to force feed yourself to get stronger.
and if you look at the Raw PL elite lifters they are not fat. You can take all the gear you want and at high doses but without force feeding you will not get the strength you are looker for.
Watch youtube videos of Brian Shaw WSM and you will see his diet is pretty clean but he doesnt miss a meal. and its not fun.
Plus you need to track your meals. you are prob. not eating as much cals. as you think you are.
Not saying you have to go and gain a bunch of weight but you need constant cals. for strength.
you can eat as dirty as you want but chances are you will get fat. Find a balance with the nutrition. if not the gear isnt a magic pill or shot.
And like i said you already have taken the time tested PL steroids.
Thanks for the input. When I’m on a cycle I can eat and it shows since I gain and keep about 10-20 lbs each time. I’ve been forcing myself off cycle to try and maintain but it’s hard. The first cycle I did 750 of test c and 500 of deca a week and 50 of d-bol each day for the first 8 weeks. I gained and kept 20lbs with that. I know ya gotta eat to maintain or grow. I guess my question is if I’m taking or took the right doses for my weight and or if there is something else I. An take off cycle to help me eat. I really do appreciate all the input guys.
jayiskMK-677 taken at night works best for me to increase my appetite and can be taken yr round. its a liquid oral so you dont even have to inject.
Looks like the Good 'ole abandoned post ...
I must say that is a ridiculously high first cycle - who on earth gave you this advice?
My first cycle I used traditional test, deca, and d-bol. Made some good gains and used nolva and hcg for pct. cycle went on for 16 weeks. Went about a year and did a test/tren cycle. That went for 10 weeks. Got a little stronger but not much. I used the advised 50 of tren-a every other day and maybe it wasn’t enough for my weight and 250 of test c per week. As far as diet, I try and eat as much as I can getting in carb and protein requirements throughout the day. I don’t eat crap or junk food. I don’t care about gaining some fat because I know it will happen as I see it does with the pros. I’m not interested in impressing anyone but myself. I just want to get stronger.
PcushionUsing gear to build strength I have found is temporary. We do everything in our power to maintain what we can when we cycle off. If done properly cycling will still take you to places that your body wouldn’t normally go. In my experience strength is the hardest thing to maintain. With my body I have found the most success by changing up my workout and really hitting power exercises. Squats, deadlifts, power clean, hang clean and press, t bar rows front squats etc. I found that swapping the workout up and eating to grow the way my body needs was far more beneficial than relying on hormones in terms of building permenant strength. You want to life number like a power lifter you have to train like one.
Happy Pinning
Long term strength gains have more to do with the routine than any drugs.
PcushionThat was what i was trying to get at but I am afraid it got lost in my extremely overthought response. You guys are so much better about using fewer words to get the point across. You can always count on me to use a paragraph when a sentence would do.
I have an incredibly hard time gaining weight without a cycle. To be clear, before my first cycle I was 180lbs! Cycles allow me to eat more and want to eat more. I’ve been trying for decades to do it without gear and just never could. I just don’t gain weight easily.
PcushionLike I said from the beginning GHRP-6 works well for a lot of people.
RustyhookerCycles allow me to eat more and want to eat more
Theres nothing that anyonef us here can do to fix that problem. Look at ghrp6. Soon as you quit the foods, youll lose it. Vicious cycle bro
Thanks man. Been reading about it and it seems promising.
PcushionI understand I was just sharing my personal experience. What I was getting at is that strength seems to be the hardest thing for me to maintain from a cycle. I was just expressing the thought that if I had the goal you did i would take some hormones but I would spend more time asking about workout plans and diet plans. Look into GHRP-6. It helps a lot of people with appetite.
Thanks man. I don’t ever have a good appetite off cycle and I think that’s why I have such a hard time gaining weight and why it’s so easy to lose weight. Fast metabolism sucks sometimes...
Well, what’s your cycle experience? I mean there’s some obvious gear that’s geared, no pun intended, towards strength. Use the search tab up top, and check the forums out. Plenty of good reads. You get no advice from me, until you elaborate on your cycle experience. What you eat while your on cycle is the most important for strength. Are you willing to add some body fat for your strength? Hard to gain strength without some bf% going up. You say your not wanting to be a bodybuilder, that’s fine, but are you getting into lifting competitions, or are you just wanting to show off for the hot girl at the gym, who probably could care less what you bench. Help me help you, elaborate please
See above for cycle experience.
Gotcha. Like rusty said, it’s a viscious cycle. We bulk in the winter, so for me that is when I go for strength and size. Then we cut in the summer, so all that strength goes out the window during a cut. I know if I don’t run an AI the extra estrogen helps me with strength. No AI also = sides. You need to know what your willing to sacrifice. My advise, run Sust wNPP or decca for 10 weeks. Run some Dbol the first 4-6 weeks for your oral, for me Dbol doesn’t hurt my appetite. Carb load and carb load and carb load. Before, during and after carbs. There are some good supplements out there for the intra carbs. Sweet potato are great source post, throw in a steak and some greens.
Deca for 10 weeks? Its just starting to hit full force at like 7 or 8 weeks...
Yea 10 weeks, then it’s still in your system for another 4 after your last shot. So 14 weeks really. You wanna shoot decca for 20 weeks that’s your call, rough shut down.
