Cutting Weight In College on Meal Plan - PLEASE HELP

ad

I am a sophomore in college with about 1.5 months left in college. At first I thought, I'll just eat like a bulking cycle until I'm done, and then start my cut, but then I got to thinking that it would be more beneficial to start my cut now so that when I am able to control my diet, it will be easier to drop my calories. Anyways, on to the real issue. I eat 2/3 meals a day in the cafeteria, and I try my best to eat the lowest carb and lowest fat sources that I can find, but sometimes there is no option other than to eat what they are serving, mostly because I have already pre-paid the college for these meals. I also try to eat 2/3 other meals outside of the cafeteria, preferably before my workout in the afternoon (canned chicken and broccoli) and at around 9 pm (tilapia and broccoli), and maybe a shake in between my classes. What I am wondering now, is if I should completely avoid carbs (other than green vegetables) and do a keto style diet, or just watch my carbs and try and push through until the end of the year. I only have a microwave to cook with, which does not help whatsoever....

My stats are:
6'1"
270 lb
25% BF (approx)
20 yo

Also, when I am able to control my diet, which would be better for quicker fat loss, keto diet, low carb, or carb cycling? I am currently taking and plan on taking throughout the summer, Animal (Pak, Flex, Omega, Cuts, Juiced, Whey) along with BSN creatine. I am doing 20 minutes on a 7.5 incline treadmill @ 2.5 speed 3/4 times/week, working out 5 days/week with active rest days (calves & forearms). My classes are 8 am - 3 pm.

Thank you very much to any and all help and input! I am very interested in bodybuilding and look forward to learning more about my body and nutrition.

You definitely need to restrict your carbs. My college had unlimited food, and there were some good options. For example, I'd get the chicken/pasta combo and only eat the chicken. Then, I go back up and do the same thing.

Tuna
Nuts
Greek Yogurt
Protein Shakes
Protein Bars
Jerky
More Tuna

You can do it. You just need discipline.

Sounds like you should increase your cardio and slowly reduce your carbs. Fasted cardio in the morning before breakfast is vital. I would not go keto if I were you. It's very hard to do for more than a couple weeks, at least for me.
