Is extra protein really neccesary if diet is good ?
Hi . I'm 5-10, 190, 33 years old. Been taking in extra protein for about the last eight months in an Atttempt to jump start my metabolism.. I work out three times a week for over an hour..lots of short burst exersizes and cardio for cutting belly fat and toning these days..the thing is I Eat tons of fish and chicken breast too along with leafy greens and oatmeal mostly..sometimes long grain brown rice and venison. It seems that the isopure is doing nothing for me at all as far as protein synthesis and lean mass. Doesn't even give me the motivating energy it used to...I guess that was probably a placebo effect? Is it neccesary? Should I drop protein and get some 7 keto dhea instead or another similar non stim? I've been. Considering psuedoephedrine into the mix for a light thermogenic... any help appreciated!

How much protein are you taking? At the quoted weight you should be hitting 1.5g/lb of LEAN BW.
Taking the items you quoted in replacement for protein was the bit I didn't understand. If your goal is to increase the rate of fat loss revisit the diet and training collectively. If gains have stopped there will be a simple reason.......it's just easy to miss it
S what are you trying to address here?
Agreed. Add up all you totals for consumption and try to calculate your exertion and subtract for your total difference. Extra protein is almost always for the better. If you're expecting lean gains, and fat loss, I'd reevaluate your training. It sounds like too much cardio for any mass gains. Weights and food are what you need.
The cardio is for cutting lower belly fat and toning more or less . And I'm not extremely unhappy with my current mass, but really want to lose that cortisol affected , hard to destroy area in my body. currently at a little less than g per lb of lean body weight intake .
