+ 1 Do you disclose your free or discounted gear in reviews?
ad
A couple months ago I posted the question " do you pay full price for your gear"
Nobody admitted to getting discounted gear, and nobody wanted to admit they pay full price.
I know lots of guys here are able to finagle some good deals on gear, and that's great. I love getting great gear at a discounted price.
The question now, do you disclose your free or discounted gear in your review?
It seems like it would be relevant to an honest review.

IMO, If the gear was free i reckon it should be disclosed, that can take a bit of review process in a different way, This is just my opinion and I'm quite new to all this so I could be missing a lot of good reasons but,
If you get free gear, does that mean your service is 10?. Pricing isnt a factor since its free... So you're left with quality and delivery then so if you did get free gear I reckon disclosed it because the reviewer might be seeing through tinted glasses
I feel if a review is to be accurate and reliable, you need to disclose all applicable information and that should include the products being promos.
That information is a piece of the puzzle. The end user can put whatever value on it he sees fit.
To me this is over complicating the whole review scenario.
Gear is good = good review
Gear is crap = crap review
It doesn't matter to me if you got it in a promo / half price / free in return for sexual favours if you review HONESTLY.
That's about it bro. My lab knows I love their product and they would get the same review from me whether I paid full price, half price or they just sent me some jugs out of customer appreciation. Gear is expensive and I do OK but a discount is always appreciated. But, I'm not gonna lie and tell the folk here something that isn't true no matter what. That's not who I am.
All I'm saying is that it should be mentioned in the review. I don't see how that's over complicating things.
To me it's a piece in deciphering the review.
I wish all reviews were honest and straightforward, but they're not. Far too many people put up glowing reviews, just because they got a free bottle of gear (10's across the board). Adding if the gear was free or by sexual favor, gives the user a clue as to believe the review or not.
I do fully agree with you that if folks would review "HONESTLY" this whole thread would be a moot point. I hope we get there.
Catalyst, you've been here long enough to prove your an honest guy and have been in this game long enough to not get all excited about some free vials, The problem is more likely to come from guys that have run a few cycles, and are just too excited about the occasional extra bottle of juice that a SRC throws in.
Free or heavily discounted gear is gonna cause some guys to become closet nut huggers. Speaking from experience, my last review I commented that I thought my gear was a little weaker than previous vials . I was a little worried that I'd piss off my src with such comments and lose my connection with what I thought was the best src ever. Some guys might decide to keep those negative comments to themselves.
I kept things real, and posted my real opinion. Fortunately that src was not pissed, and sent me a couple of replacement vials that were dosed a little stronger.
I've decided that if I post a review, I'm gonna disclose any freebies and discounts.
You and Vhman are both exactly right there, not everybody is going to be honest, especially when freebies are involved. In an idealistic way, it doesn't make any difference. In reality for some individuals it does.
The reverse can also be true though. I'm perceived to be "honest" apparently. Let's say that a review I wrote recently the gear was all given to me half price, (I'm making this up obviously). I like the gear, made good gains, service was great blah blah. Then I write "sold it to me half price". Doesn't that then make people think my review is bullshit? It's puts a question mark over what is an honest review, making it potentially useless to those reading it if they don't know me well enough to deem me "honest". After all, it's the Internet.....
I'm playing devils advocate here, in truth there's no perfect solution. The reviews are inherently difficult. Not helped by members that would sell their own grandmothers for a bottle of prop and a large percentage that couldn't tell if it's good or not.
Unfortuneately "free" gear seems to carry the inuendo or stigma for some people of a less than honest review. Some may be warranted and others obviously not. I think it is important to focus on all of the reviews for that source as a collective to help make up your mind.
I got some free gear on promos but i havent reviwed it. I believe you have to run gear your familiar with meaning different compounds all from same source its hard to tell if your running one thing from source a one from source b etc.. And accurately tell whats working and whats not so since ive come to this conclusion i quit getting in on promos unless its a whole cycle which i dont believe anyones about to do i feel the free gear promos are bullshit unless a your a newb ie only running one compound b its an anti estro drug and you have blood test to prove what its doing blocking or stimulating lh etc or c hgh which also involves blood tests ....basically free gear usually means biased reviews from promo whores which promo whores just want more gear you do the math ie they give good reviews thinking thell get more free shit for there propaganda which fucks the rest of us because we try to trust these reviews to make good purchases..
I think that you should state in the review whether the gear was from a promo or not. One vial of test or 50 free dbol in my opinion shouldn't be enough for a review. But if you think you can build a cycle out of promo gear good luck to you. Something you just got for free is going to be garbage and your whole cycle is shot because of one little thing. Either way good luck everyone
If you purchase your prescriptions from different pharmacies they all have different prices... does that make them different?
If you use your "discount" cvs, walgreens, or rite aid card to purchase your otc products does it make them different from the person who doesn't have a card?
Seems like I see reviews where guys state the Dbol or whatever is free.... The person making the review is what gives it credibility or not.
It is nice to know if it was free gear given out during a promo. It really shouldn't matter but I always err on the side of caution when reading reviews from "free gear promos" unless I know who the reviewer is. I have recieved free gear from some promos and I will state in my review if it was received from a promo.
I think being open and honest is a given in any certainty.
But on the other hand, I would respect the source privacy and the deal that was struck.
If you discuss it with the source and they are OK with it it's a definite go.
I have had sources ask me to keep it personal, and I always respect that if asked.
Good topic!
I think that's the proper way to handle it. If the source would like to see an honest review posted, I'll disclose that it was free or discounted gear. If the source wants it kept private, than no review at all.
I think that the potential problem comes from people trying to make sure they keep their connection for discounted gear happy.
Now if it was shitty gear, none of us would want to keep getting it even if it's free. But if it's mostly good, say the tren and test e were good, but the prop was shit. Someone might fail to mention that the prop was shit so they can keep getting that fiyah tren and test e.
I'm sure that we've all seen fanboy behaviour from high karma members, and when I see that I assume there is a cheap or free gear situation behind that behaviour.
There is also the possibility, and I hope it's remote, that the high karma member will get great gear for free for his review and that regular members will not be getting the same gear.
Man dont let nobody knock your thinking.
I must admit i only value acouple guys on here opinions on gear. So many peiple getting FREE or discounted gear for false reviews. Just dont call them out cause they will turn on you
Is there a way for sources to know if your karma is high or low if you don't give them your eroids tag?
I don't think so. ^^^
It's the case of, " hey bro, want to try a few vials of my gear? I'll comp you some XXXX just leave me an honest review"
That's when integrity comes into play.
Of course
P2i2tI personally don't understand how it would be relevant to an honest review. Our review is about the quality of the gear and the dependability in the process in which it took to get the gear to us. which includes processing the order, packaging it in an appropriate manner, and getting it out in an appropriate time frame. Just because you got it at a different price than somebody else doesn't change the fact that its the same stuff as the next person is using and it was shipped and packaged by the same "company". No matter If your vial cost $100 or $10, its still the same compound as the next guy's no matter whether their's cost $100 or $10. . the price does not change the quality or also does not change the manner in which it is packaged and delivered. Just my personal outlook on it. Good question to put out here though. I'm interested in seeing the different perspectives about this.
