Stimulants during powerlifting meet

I compete in powerlifting and outside of nose tork I don't use stimulants while competing. Well I've recently switched to a keto diet and at first I was losing strength without the carbs. Now my strength is even higher than before with carbs, but when I use some type of pre workout (that I started using due to low energy at start of the switch to keto) I can complete the movement better because I'm more focused. What I was thinking is how well does this transfer to the platform? A couple pounds? Would it be worn off by the time you do all three lifts? And is there any stimulant better than others for this purpose?

Unfortunately nose poppers are the only real stim that holds true. You could use ephidrine and take it about 30 minutes prior to the meet but be careful how many sniffs you do because the elevated BP and heart rate could cause you to pass out after a heavy lift, I did and as funny as it was it hurt when I fell to the mat.
Yeah under a heavy bench or squat you could hurt yourself like that. I didn't think about that aspect of it. I guess I'll stick to nose tork. Maybe some caffeine before the last deadlift or so. I'd like to be in this for a long time and don't want to hurt myself with the barbell. You know the record holders in respective weight classes do so much gear their blood pressure is probably shot already.

my advice (and ive done a few meets myself and lots of years under heavy iron) is use light stims aka medium coffe or medium stim pre-wo(esp good one with creatine beta aline ect) but on a heavy ME day use ephedrine caffeine asp (ECA) stack lighter dose meet day nutrition esp aim for long lasting carbs and use high amounts of stims a good eca stack with a small coffee ect..this way your not dependent on it and take no stims on non workout days as well as lighter workouts speed day ect...just be careful with doseage start low and find what works well for you without making you feel any bad sides...I sometimes over do stims causing nervousness or anxiety if you will and get so worked up worrying about a weight that should be easy and missing it lol...nose tork never really helped me much IMO but i do use it for deads the last lift when the meets are long
