+ 1 Weekly Grocery Bill

ad

So I have seen a lot of talk on here about how much people spend on groceries in a week since I've signed up to this wonderful site. I've been here a few years now, and I don't post often. Also I understand that you're trying to discourage the reliance on drugs, but I believe it to be despairing to some users when they hear how much your grocery bill is, and that this thread could maybe give some examples of weekly grocery lists and costs of items on said lists and weekly totals and maybe stats as a comparison.

So post the following if you feel so inclined:

Items, item cost
Total cost,
Stats and maybe some background on goals you're eating for.

My phone is about to die, but I'll post mine tonight.

Thanks to anyone who participates.

I get my meals prepped at $7 each which I think is reasonable, so $42 at day = $294 per week. My nutrition guy has always got me on some kinda diet and I gave up weighing everything out and shopping for all this "wild caught" "grass fed" and organic crap a long time ago (and so did the Mrs.). LOL

£200 per month? I have no idea how you can eat so cheap. My nine year old costs more than that to feed.

I can tell you when i was single, its hard to say now cause i shop with my fiance, and on top of that she stops at the grocery store a few times a week extra for other things we need. But back when it was just me assuming I did not eat out at all ( that would run the bill up to around 200 maybe more) I spent around 150 a week. I keep it pretty simple, i hate shopping so i buy the same things every week so im in and out in the least time possible,
eggs
few cartons of egg whites
oats
chicken breast (maybe talipia somethings)
brown rice
top sirloin steak
ground beef
potatoes
greek yogurt.

And back then id eat the same thing everyday at the same time. now lifes a little different, i dont have steak and potatoes everynight for dinner 6 nights a week lol, now only twice, my fiance cooks differnet things the rest of the week. It was honestly alot easier back then, i knew exaclty what I was eating everyday.

Close to as simple as it gets, if one really needed to budget, they could drop the steak beef potatoes egg whites and yogurt and get buy on eggs, oats, chicken breast and brown rice. Doesnt get any cheaper then that. Ive done that before when money was tight, 2 meals with eggs, 3-4 with chicken and a shake after the gym.

I buy my meat in bulk and monthly. Split it and freeze it. I guess this comes to roughly £200/£250

Fruit and vegetables I buy fresh, twice a week and I would guess somewhere around £60-£80 a month.

Carbs, no clue on this but they are relatively cheap so I imagine no more than £60 per month.

This is what my and my girlfriend generally spend on feeding ourselves. I would add an extra £250 on eating out and miscellaneous things.

Both my family and my wifes family are ranchers, I get all the top quality beef I want for free. When we run out I head to my parents or in laws' freezer and fill up a new box to bring home. With free beef we spend about $100-$150/week for us and a 2 year old.

Does your family want to adopt a grown ass man? Smile

depends on if im in prep or not. prep is usually a little more expensive, maybe 200$ weekly. i go for leaner meats while on prep and it ends up costing a bit more.

off season i can get away with 100-150$ a week. if you look through the ads the grocery stores send out almost ALWAYS there is fresh chicken beast on sale for around 1.50-1.75$ per pound. you might have to go to a different store than usual to get it, but its worth it.

chunkypbnj's picture

150-200 depends on how much seafood I eat.

I'm not sure what my grocery bill is. I just eat whatever my mom buys. ;-)

zeb0312's picture

I'm same way bro. I just sit down and table and ask what's for dinner. Yea right I wish. lol

vhman's picture

I've been asked what would be the first thing you'd get if you won the lottery and a personal chef would be mine.

zeb0312's picture

I agree. No wait, 2 chefs.

Trenagade's picture

Exactly! I need a regular chef and a pastry chef

The Impastable's picture

Hot pockets and pizza bagels ftw.

vhman's picture

Your mom get those for you too? Sweet! She also gets me Star Wars mac and cheese, top Raman, and lucky charms! That, along with some tren, is all a growing boy needs!

The Impastable's picture

Don't you or anyone on here dare speak ill of lucky charms!

vhman's picture

Speaking ill of lucky charms would be a physical impossibility.

Trenagade's picture

I love pizza rolls

The Impastable's picture

I hated them, could never quite wait for them to cool off before incinerating my entire mouth.

PIN_CUSHION's picture

Trenagade's picture

That's the best part!

Thank god I have a local farm and butcher I get my neat from so it's fresh and he cuts what ever I want.

Get lean sirloin and then he center cuts it for me and grinds it up for 4.99 a pound. Can't beat that. Big ass local farm has all kinds of shit.

I try to support my local mom and pops store to keep them around. The dam big store chains has put so many other small store's out of business that Has been around forever..Shit ain't right.

Trenagade's picture

Which half?

Gymjunkie01's picture

A half of beef is just that split right down the back two halves.. A quarter of beef is half a side front quarter or rear quarter

Trenagade's picture

I see, I was picturing getting the half with the head or the half with the ass lol
