New year resolution crowd
ad
How good does it feel not having to wait for machines or equipment at the gym. This time of the year many folks go back home with their families(i live in a college town)so my gym is pretty much empty, i usually go around 9pm but i was wondering how long is gonna last, and fuck.... I realize new year is coming and BOOOOM is gonna get super crowded for a few weeks. Just thouht i share this experience, ya'll might be going thru the same at your local gym, just thouht i share. GET READY FOR THE NEW YEAR RESOLUTION PHUCKERS!!!

Every year I usually dread the resolutioners, this year im going to try to be more positive/patient w the whole fiasco maybe put out some good advice when asked for some help, and maybe this year more ppl will stick it out and create a new lifestyle for themselves. We'll just have to wait and see and then post a forum discussion in a month where we can vent our frustrations
best wishes
24 hour gyms fix this problem.. just go later and those crowds won't be there
Saw this one on tosh.o. good for a chuckle!

lmfao very funny
And so it begins....
Sure enough my mother in-law was talking about going to the gym to lose weight, like every other year at this time, since " this is the year". Don't worry, she only makes it 2 weeks before getting discouraged from not seeing any results and quitting. She still thinks she has to be in an extreme caloric deficit to lose weight, no matter what I tell her. So, she will probably eat like shit and starve for a few days, get bitchy, without losing anything.
yep well said , every january is the same , back to normal by feb lol love it
I hate crowds at the gym. That's one of the reasons I try to either lift late or lift early. January is the worst because no matter what time I get there, there are people and for some reason I can't help but to think the E-Z Curl Bar is a bow and I'm Legolas from Lord Of The Rings and I run around and pretend to shoot people who have poor form.
It's a curse
I will have to try that, lol, Sometimes I just stand their and "crush their heads". You get some weird looks...
that's pretty funny
oohh shit fellers! I live in a college town with 3 gyms, one is a mega gym we refer to as the health and fashion club, second one is a planet fitness, no lunks allowed, then there is my gym a power house that I was informed they just were bought out by bailys and have started remodeling. I'm down with fitness and understand you have to cater to the demand for such. bodybuilding sanctuaries are getting harder to come by.
My new years resolution is this!
When i find out who has been trying to fkn hack my account im gonna rip your fkn asshole out FKR.
Lmao.. Uncle V, this has happened to me before several times, i usually wait till next day to log back in, good luck getting your account running again
I feel your pain but it's a great time to find those MILFS who need and have been lacking self esteem. Give props to cougar in training and watch her front fangs drop! Yummy!
As tempting as this sounds i need to stay away from all that, wife already had enough of my bs... But who knows ;)
Amen!
Our gym has been sporadically dead over the holidays as well. But there have also been a lot of day passes showing up too. Best thing to do is get the rest of the silverbacks together and scowl at them why we lift. Unless they are also silverbacks they usually go play with the machines or cardio.
Anyone have a guess on how many of the new years resolution crowd actually stick it out? I am thinking 5%. Although last year it seemed a few more held on longer than I am used to.
swoller87headphones on, test base pre workout, head up or looking down and a fuck you eat shit and die look on my face. and if they are on something I need and are texting I will tell them kindly one time to get the fuck up!
I always dread January at the gym. It's always full of the new year resolution crowd. 99% of them don't last the month, but it makes January a very crowded and frustrating month at the gym. At least they are taking the time to text with their friends while sitting on each piece of equipment for 20 minutes.
I don't usually make specific goals for new year, but always do some self evaluation and take stock. I'm always trying to find things i'm doing wrong and find ways to fix them. I think it's always a good idea to try to become the best people we can be and to realize that there are always things we can improve on.
My Gym was just sold to Crunch so i have no idea what the new year will bring hopefully not lame ass girly equipment and more kettle bells!! ahhh yes the ol' dreaded new years resolution assholes who have no idea what they're doing or any real desire to learn, who sit on the leg extension machines for 25 minutes on their iPhones text messaging their friends all about how they're kickin ass at the new gym...yippie can't wait!!
Lol its already begun for me. I noticed I superset 15 sets of bench, curling and calf raises while this one turd was sitting on the lat pulldown station the whole time doing just what you described.
I'm on the fence about what the New Year will bring. Our gym was sold a few months back and the new owners are doing a complete makeover over the Christmas holidays... So not only will we have the New Years resolution folks... We will have all the other weirdos that just want to see something new. In the past I've enjoyed getting to know some of the New Years people... Sharing my knowledge and watching their progress. However, I have less time now so I don't think I will be going out of my way.
I've never really been a big New Years resolution type person. If helps or has some sort of power to help you better yourself than I say go for it but if it just leads to another let down in your life than I say steer clear of it and try to stick to achievable goals and work your way up to help build discipline. I'm the type that if I say I'm going to do it I freakin do it type person regardless of the time of year it is......
BigBmajI'm embracing this opportunity to be more social and socially comfortable. They will get in the way and I'll either just take the equipment or work in. There will be many new women to appreciate around there too.
But shit it's all over in a month or two. I can handle it.
I could be wrong, but it looks like there are more newbies here on eroids this week. I wonder how many resolutioners plan on jumping right into a cycle when they hit the gym on 1/1/14
Everyone has to start somewhere but It's the ones who think they no better and refuse to listen to solid advice who will jump on a stacked cycle on 1/1/14.
hey bro, i like to look at in a positive way. its cool to have new people at the gym getting into what we loving doing... a lot of times they are impressed about my size and when i hit the treadmill you can always have conversation with them.. if they get in my way i work in with them
That's cool you look at it that way bro. I just don't have the time or the patience when i go work out that's all i have in mind, i got wife and kids & have to come back home ASAP to eat, go bed and get up at 5am to go work again. Not hating on anyone thought like i said i wish they ALL can follow it throught & not just quit within a few weeks
im on the same boat brother., between family and work im a busy dude but, the gym its my fun time i dont let anything get in the way of it, especially non serious fuckers ,..
New rules in my gym starting january.
Everybody must have a small towel to wipe down the equipment after use.. nobody likes lying or sitting in someone elses sweat pool. (INCLUDING ASS JUICE )
Only proper water bottles allowed.... none of these plastic throw aways that fuckers leave dumped all over the gym floor for some sad bastard like me to keep picking up and dumping.
I would like to ban mobiles and ipods.... but i realise you pussies cannot LIVE without your fkn tech shit.
....but then how can I listen to my George Michael greatest hits collection? Really gets me pumped up along with my matching fluorescent wrist and headband!! ;) LoL
Some Boy George and we all set for a killer work out.
Nice. I'm not experienced enough to run a stack of cheesy 80's albums pre workout, shit would blow my mind!!
I'm with you on the mobiles..... Mine stays in the car without fail.
I do all my working out at home but if I went to a public gym I could see using an iPod just to tune the dumbasses out
pathetic how some people can't lift without an ipod!! I never need that shit I have motivation to lift hard
Lol @ ASS JUICE ^^^^
You nailed uncle V, forgot to mention those who come to the gym looking like they going to a club, i'm gonna see bunch of those on Jan 1st.
When people ask me how I got into such good "shape" I always say the same thing. Consistency, willpower, and drive. To me its not about how you lift, everyone has their own style. I tell these people, make a plan and stick to it, every fucking day. Don't tell me you don't have time to go to the gym, I know single mothers that work two jobs and make time for fitness. I hate to hear excuses, the only one stopping you, is you.
PLEASE do not think im hating on i jusr wish they all follow throught and make a positive change. Im talking about the ones who get in our way and keep us from doing a workout in less than 2 hrs just because they decided to sit down send a couple Twits, check Facebook & listen to a few songs all this while you waiting for the equipment
Yea they pretty much get in the way. I go to small iron gym, not a big chain like...La,24hr, ballys, equinox, youfit ect. The people in my gym are older iron heads, my kinda speed. I'd rather train with an old resolutioner than a young one personally. 9pm is best for me 7 people max at that time. I don't own the gym, so everyone is free to get swole, hopefully they make it a lifestyle change.
Granted its more than a little annoying having an over crowded gym with folks who have spent a fortune on gym clothing they will never use again ... BUT I gotta say, at least these fuckers have got off their arses. It's the overweight SOB's who year after year sit on their arm chair piling on the pounds, spouting nonsense about the latest diet while telling everyone this is the year I'm going to "get fit!" who really deserve the heat!!
yeah It got deep real quick
lol
GearofWarI remember talking about this very same thing last year around this same time, lol! I was lamenting the fact that my gym would be overrun with "resolutioners" and it was. Most only lasted about a solid month so it wasn't so bad plus I rather enjoy some the new ahem, sights that this time of year brings to the cardio equipment wink, wink. And out of all the folks that showed up last year I think I see ONE still attending on a regular basis.
I heard that. Not sure how many of the Eroids members where once a new year resolutioners, so i hope im not offending anyone. I was once a broken hearted dude and i started lifting weights out of pure hate.
I hate those fuckers...
AnonI'm half dreading it and half looking forward to it. I hate seeing folks go above their experience level and ruin my workouts with them being sloppy n messy and dangerous and have zero etiquette. But I do like seeing folks busting ass giving it 100% trying to turn their life around. The ones who got it together normally show respect and ask for some help and some of them already have great etiquette. Those folks are more then welcome but some of these folks are clowns and ruin it for the regulars.
In my area most people are college kids so go figure. Most of them wont pass a month. I'll be gladly looking forward to help those who really wanna make the change and have the fire to do so. Everyone else just basicly go to the gym expecting to transform into an Arnold or Kim Kardashian in a few weeks, they dont succed and abort the mission
AnonExactly!!!
