SeaHawkYou have to sign for it. If you mail person is cool you can ask them to sign for you. Just explain that you're at work or away a lot and cannot always make it to the post office to pick up boxes that arent signed for. I did this a few months ago and it's a dream not having to time my day around the mail route.
