My biggest Discovery about myself is that I'm definitely stronger and more disciplined than I ever thought possible. I spent nearly 40 years eating unhealthy and not exercising because I somehow convinced myself that I didn't either, have the time to do it or that it just wasn't worth it. To anyone reading this, just know, it's never to late to start and no matter what you think, it is most certainly worth the effort to start bettering yourself.
Biggest discovery I’ve found about myself in my journey is I’m never happy nor content.
I’m 1000% more appealing physically since I started the gym, the steroids the better eating.
Yet I’m still not happy with what I see in the mirror.
Yeah, the mirror is one hell of a tool. Everyone else always compliments me and even ask me for fitness and diet advice, however, at least once a week I look in the mirror and think, damn, my arms are small or my abs are weak.
Mate, how bad are our brains that we can convince ourselves like this.
My local gym there’s two fellow school/nursery dads there who both have made the odd complement and ask me what I do, where as I feel they’re bigger and leaner than myself.
The wife is my biggest fan but it’s almost as if I’ll listen to her for 99.9% of things in life but somehow it’s like she’d lie to me about my appearance when she has to look at it
The brain knows how to fuck moi
My biggest discovery about myself in my fitness journey:
There's been a lot of discoveries over the years. I discovered when I was younger that there is such a thing as too much. Too many days without rest, too many different compounds, too much trying to always increase the weights.... As I've gotten older I've definitely learned to focus more on my health and the longevity of this whole fitness thing. Now, at 40, I just want to be in shape, live as long as possible, and be healthy...I wanna be able to keep up with my kids and their energy.
My biggest discovery is that I realized there is never a true end goal. No matter how big or how cut, its never enough.
