+ 5 GENETICS are an important piece to the puzzle.

ad

To all the newbies and guys that ignore genetics, I'll make this quick as I've seen various discussions on gear dosages today. I've always said that Genetics will always be a key factor, not high dosages. Now does hard work and dedication help? Yes.

This is a pic of Mr. Olympia Ronnie Coleman with with mother who was over 70 years old in pic. May she rest in peace. She is my focus not Ronnie.
His mother never competed yet had a daughter with this same type of muscular physique, not to even mention Ronnie. This picture doesn't do the mom justice as you would have to have seen her up close in person like I was fortunate to see her up close. I've never seen an older woman look like that seriously and I've said that a few times on here. Hope this gets some folks thinking.
Genetics Genetics....
This post is not to discourage anyone at all. I encourage everyone to be the best physically that you can be. What you're blessed with someone else may not have and vice versa. Train well and smart my friends.

Drexyl's picture

He is an evil evil man.

DeeMan's picture

I can see both points but I can see your point a bit better.

DeeMan's picture

I appreciate your honest comment. Hey man I knew this subject would be touchy but there was no reason for me to run from it, instead I decided to run to it. I just think that this subject may be hard for some folks simply because they can't relate to it that's all. And make no mistake the purpose of this post wasn't to say that all black folks were at an advantage lol. I know that you didn't imply that but just putting that out there. Now to be fair, I've seen a few white guys out run alot of black athletes. These guys were super fast and they didn't get that way by just training which is a rediculous thought, clearly those guys are genetically blessed with speed. One white athlete that comes to mind is Mathew Bolling. Mathew won state titles in the 100 meters in track and went on to the University of Georgia and ran against and beat alot of black track sprinters that were fast, which got him alot of attention. No other explanation besides genetics. It's just hard for me to see the average guy training and doing that. If it's in you, then it's in you period lol.

Drexyl's picture

I wouldn’t say it’s touchy, it’s a perfect addition to the conversation. Black men, on average, are higher than white men by 100ng/dl or 20%. It’s not opinion, research has been done. You’re not the first to notice lol

Rosschestzip's picture

I don’t think that’s all there is to it tho. Like I said there’s this certain look, some white guys have it too, buts it’s almost like there meat and the people without that “look” are potato lol. Idk if it’s thin skin, or lower amount of visceral fat or what it is but I definitely think fat storage has something to do with it. Also I think athleticism and test levels are separate from this look but are still genetic differences. I remember Ronnie even saying sometime that no matter what he ate he would never be double digit bf %, which is crazy, 10% is low to begin with, so for that to be your HIGHEST is crazyyyy lol. Also I think he said on stage he was like 2 or 3%. And then you look at me and my sons and we’re built like bean poles. Tall and super skinny. I’ve bulked up now but at there age you could see my ribs and I can see there’s now, but still were probably at like 18% bf where as some little black kid with the same diet and exercise and similar build is at like 8% . I mean there’s definitely white kids who have that same appearance but for whatever reason It seems to be super common with black kids

Bruce Jenner did win Olympic gold, that can’t be denied.

DeeMan's picture

Thought he was black but comment above was kinda confusing lol. Not talking about Jenner lol.

Pumped_'s picture

Haha sorry i didnt clarify, the white cops in my neighborhood could never catch us black guys lol

Yes, that was one fast white boy. But us black guys, give us an incentive like a K-9 on our ass and we can leap tall buildings in a single bound lol

So how much testosterone would someone haveto take to make up for that 100ng/dl or 20%

Drexyl's picture

What’s funny is the numbers given vary. It’s an easy search, I just now typed how much higher is black men’s testosterone and a slew of info came up lol. But with such a variance, 280-1180ngdl being the range, I’d say typically black men would be in the high end of normal. As far as how much to take? That’s all relative. One interesting thing to consider, and this is an opportunity to further the discussion about DNA, and how it can be forcibly evolved, is that artificial testosterone (no brewing talk lol) is derived from yams and soy. Those two are the base before the chemistry comes into play. Maybe hundreds or even thousands of years of African males consuming large amounts of those foods played a factor? Damn science is fun.

DeeMan's picture

Yep DHEA is derived from yams, which is then broken down further to eventually yield the artificial testosterone hormone.

DeeMan's picture

Loving this discussion. Now that I think back I do remember something about black men having slightly higher testosterone levels. But when you take juice that evens it out but the other factor is how does the body react to the testosterone within it @wanted . Some folks react better than others to testosterone.

DeeMan's picture

Lmao

DeeMan's picture

O really? Interesting. I appreciate both of you guys honesty. Facts are facts.

Take alook at this kid
Anton_swl. 19 years old
Lets here about genetics and OR years of training nope
Better than frank zane or NO

DeeMan's picture

What?

wanted's picture

Look up
Anton_swl on instagram. Or his youtube show day. He is 19
Tell me your thoughts on his physique vs frank zane

DeeMan's picture

First time I've ever saw that guy.

DeeMan's picture

O damn you're right! Closest physique to Frank's. Only thing he's lacking is Frank's muscle maturity which will come many years later. Man these young guys are either over doing gear or just blessed. But yea that kid is a carbon copy of Frank Zane

wanted's picture

Yup the modern day frank zane. Hopefully others watch and chime in

Drexyl's picture

A lot of people throw shade towards Frank because he wasn’t 300lbs, Frank’s physique was god like. If I could rock that at 6’1 I’d be a very very happy man.

wanted's picture

Its great that we can be inspired by people i believe it helps us do our best with what we have
And never give up and keep on moving forward

DeeMan's picture

You are liking this new generation of fitness youtubers I'm noticing lol. Well they are having a big influence on kids, both good and bad. EDIT: Heck as young as you look you could probably be one of those guys.

wanted's picture

I still get those who guess me at 8-10 years younger. But remmember i have 3 boys between 24-18 so yes i have to stay alittle updated or they make fun of me. One of mine is a instagram/ youtube influencer what ever they call themselves has been in the same gym as this kid/young and ive seen him also in real life.

DeeMan's picture

Ok so that makes sense. I remember you said you had 3 older boys. So you saw that guy up close in person huh? Any difference in looks?

wanted's picture

Its like the moment you say what the F-ck

DeeMan's picture

Haha

MurderHornet2020's picture

Dam his mom is wicked jacked

DeeMan's picture

Even at 40 or 50 that would be impressive..she was over 70!

wanted's picture

Does steroids affect the genetics of future generations

DeeMan's picture

You think yes?

DeeMan's picture

Like as in kids that we would want to have in the future?
I've always wondered about that lol.

Drexyl's picture

Now this is an interesting topic. It’s been proven with certain illicit recreational drugs, at the level of dna yes manipulations are made and the genes are altered. I would think performance enhancing drugs would do the same. The topic goes so deep though, nature vs nurture. It takes what, 5-7 generations to domesticate an animal? That’s done with forced behavior modification, no drugs, but generation after generation the animal is more tame, more obedient, until you see what we see today. A lot of the research started during World War Two with ol Mr. Shicklgruber and that nutty doctor he kept around, Mengele or something like that. It’s awful what they did to humans, but the results of the research was groundbreaking. Honestly if they were doing it then there has to be someone somewhere now doing the same atrocities. Genetics is a fascinating topic bro.

DeeMan's picture

Yep ole crazy mustache man Adolf starting experimenting with his troops during WW 2. Yep I gotta agree it's a fascinating topic. You know this is the thing though, where does the DNA manipulation stop? I mean man I remember seeing this steer who had some sort of gene mutation that made him look massive. The damn steer's muscles had muscles lol. Biggest Steer ever! Geneticists are in the lab as we speak trying to duplicate that steer's natural gene mutation. And trust me they'll figure it out. That type of thing is called gene doping and best believe when an athlete gets an opportunity to be doped up they won't hesitate. You know this same type of DNA manipulation is being studied right now in order to decrease chances of any cancer of disease that one may be predisposed to. At some point I just wonder if we're taking it too far.

Drexyl's picture

Ya know bro, I have an outlook that probably isn’t shared by the masses. If the research is of benefit to ease or prevent suffering, I’m all for it. A cancer cure, cures for fatal viruses, the punishing deaths like Alzheimer’s, etc… I’m on board. But at some point we’re supposed to die. It’s by design. We’re already living much longer than we’re built to thanks to modern medicine. It’s a good thing to a degree, but when a body becomes aged and decrepit, and the mind is no longer capable, what’s the point? To just exist? I’m far from having any kind of death wish, but I’ve known for a very long time that I have an expiration date, and I’m ok with it. Now children? Different opinion entirely from me, every human deserves a childhood and hopefully reaches adult age. Breaks my heart when I see sick children and the young passing away. I try to comfort myself by believing that god had better plans for them, but that’s a hard pill to swallow sometimes.

DeeMan's picture

Both you and I are cut from the exact same cloth as far as our mind set. Whether it's popular thinking or not, if it needs to be said then you say it and that we both share lol. So look everyone has a right to believe in whatever religion or what have you. I don't try to influence anyone on that, but I just think there is a creator of this World and everything and at certain times scientists start to try to play his role ya know? Like you said we are suppose to die not live forever which man is trying so hard to do. I just don't agree. Now like you said, if this technology is used to treat something harmful such as cancer then I'm all for it. And about kids....yeah that would be my kryptonite and I'll just say that.. Kids are innocent, unlike us nasty, foul adults.

Drexyl's picture

Genetics is everything. From the ability to grow muscle, your muscle shape, and importantly with what we do is your personal ability to respond to and tolerate drugs. We all have known people that smoked like a freight train and drank booze like a Kennedy since their childhood and they make it to ninety years of age with very few problems. Then you have the unfortunate that wind up with lung cancer having never smoked a cigarette in their entire life, or exercised religiously and ate very well but yet have a fatal heart attack at thirty. There’s some things in life that can be chalked up to blind luck, I don’t believe this is one of them, we’re all programmed differently and sadly some people get the shitty end of the stick. They are making huge advances in genetic testing over the recent years, if you’re going to make certain choices, it may behoove you to see if you have certain genetic markers that put you at risk. Love you all, no homo, I’m just in a great mood today.

DeeMan's picture

I think genetics being a very important part of the puzzle is right on the money. Now those may take offense but reality is reality and nothing will change that and Drexyl both you and I know this. This is no disrespect to anyone or not meant as discouragement to anyone. It is what it is lol. Guess we are just dealing in reality.

Man I knew a guy long ago who smoked cigarettes, cigars and weed all day yet he could out run athletes. True story. How can that be explained? It can't be. It was just in him! I think alot of times if something sounds unrealistic or we can't relate, we automatically think that certain things aren't possible. We have to get out of that silly mindset. Not sure if it's a learned behavior or what. And glad you're in a good mood!

Gym and Bikes_bro's picture

You got the point, she's incredible....

DeeMan's picture

Over 70 years old! Her daughter looked the same as she did.

Pumped_'s picture

I got the genetics i just dont have the time and money to be all i can be in the gym. Ive always been able to work out half of the time of my friends and still excel in performance better than them. My friends would say i just look at weight and get big. But if i had the time, money for gym and diet i could utilize my aas intake more efficiently. Ive always said the amount of aas ive taken i should be like dorian yates. But for competition level lifters this is their 40-50hr job. They have money for nannys if they have children and spend $1000s on nutritionists and dieticians that i envy and most of us dont have. I think that if a major factor on top of genes.
