Food Break Down

ad

typical daily food intake

Ordered from:

pasted from post in weight loss forum per suggestion

I'm hoping I've done this correctly - but I attached a screen shot of a typical day's food intake for me. I am looking to lose BF and I can't tell if I've slowed down fat burn, or if it's non existent (I might just be impatient)

I attached the snip in "self-shots" under mezzoaggro - If I need to go about providing info, please let me know.

current weight 190
current BF 23% (using accumeasure calipers)

age 50

cardio - 30 minute bootcamp style in the mornings (fasted)

weights (progressive overload - barbell and dumbell mainly with some machines -squat, bench, press, dead

on TRT

water intake about 3/4 gallon

thanks in advance

Get rid of the whipping cream and carbs in the last meal. Replace with another 20gr of protein somewhere. Raise your cardio to 40min and keep your heartrate between 120 and 130 bpm. Rid of the "bootcamp" cardio. Where fat burning not burning up everything.

How many cardio sessions are you doing now?

I was doing 2 boot camps in a row 5 days a week and 1 on Saturday. I've switched and have started running in the morning and then going to 1 bootcamp - my running has suffered some since I started BC, but I expect to be able to pull off 40 minutes quite soon (right now I'm gassed at 3 miles/30 minutes)

Thanks for the input!

Are your weight training seesions suffering?

You're doing cardiovascular cardio not fat burning cardio, fine if thats what you are training for but for a muscular physique with minimal bf your approach will not help.

Essentially, low-moderate intensity steady state sustained cardio uses primarily fats for fuel whereas HIIT (presumably "boot camp") mostly burns up glycogen, correct?

Usually I start prep with hiit for a few weeks and then switch to liss, for a few reasons..One that you stated, 2. Hiit burns up my legs and they shrink, 3. I like to keep any intensity for my workouts NOT cardio especially while in a deficit.

For fasted I use ECA stack, 5gr plain powedered bcaa, 5gr L-cartinine, and 16 oz of water . This helps preserve muscle. After I eat my bigget meal of the day which is breakfast, all vitamins, 4oz 100% beet juice, then have at least another meal or two and hit the weights.

And yes I've found that liss is mostly better, but coming off a bulk I prefer hiit for a few weeks to strip off the first layer of fat and get my metobolism cooking.
