+ 6 Effects of Anavar on the liver (20 mg / 40 mg) - Experiment
I wanted to research how Oxandrolone (Anavar) affects my liver on 20 mg and 40 mg ed for 6 weeks
First Blood work:
Test E 400 mg week (e3,5d 200 mg)
Anavar 20 mg ed ( SIS Labs / Intex Pharma - Enhanced Anabolics)
Arimidex 0,5 mg e3,5d
Milk thistle 500 mg ed
First Blood work:
Test E 400 mg week (e3,5d 200 mg)
Anavar 40 mg ed (Hilma Biocare - thebbpower)
Arimidex 0,5 mg e3,5d
Milk thistle 500 mg ed
N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine (NAC) 400 mg
Cycle was 14 weeks with last 6 weeks with Anavar as a cut.
In general I really liked Anavar, after some days it gave me strenght, vascularity and pump. SIS, Intex and Hilma were all equaly good, I would recommend these brands. Even on just 20 mg the strenght increase was significant. I felt like it helped me with fat loss as a addition to the Test E.
My liver enzymes are around 35 - 40 normally. With 20 mg the enzymes were higher than normal, but just about + 4 - 7 points over the normal range. But I do think they were still in a healthy range With the addition of NAC I could double the dose and the enzymes were more or less the same as with 20 mg.
With stronger liver support like TUDCA it could be possible to stay completely in the norm range of liver enzymes or maybe you can up the dosage if needed.
In conlusion I think that Anavar is quite mild on the liver, especially with liver support. Even longer cycles and/or higher doses could be done without too much strain. With the addition of stronger liver supps like TUDCA you could stay in the norm or up the dosage. So I would advise everybody using orals to invest in good liver supps, they do help!
For the other blood values, I will up my cardio to lower my Cholesterol, maybe buy a bicycle for home use. It is not too high but could be a little lower. Also I think I will watch the thickness of my blood, maybe have to do some blood letting / donating in the future.

Not really recent, the first one was end 2019 with just 20 mg and the second one was mid 2020 with 40 mg
Due to the covid chaos I had my hands full with some problems, so sorry for posting with some delay

Still taking his post with a grain of salt after he said significant strenght gains using 20mg of anavar. Not sure if serious when you're 8 weeks in on your 400mg test cycle already... Plus without testing if what he took trully is 100% anavar its just guesswork. With all due respect to the sources ofcourse. But if you're gonna make a post like this and tell people you did a research, better make 100% sure whatever is on the label is really what you are taking.

To be honest I have never before ran other gear than Test and Anavar, bought some Mast and NPP but due to the covid chaos and gyms closing never came to use it. Maybe thats the reason it worked so well for me

BigCactusI trust your judgement more than mine regarding bloodwork, so I believe. Tbh Anavar is the only bareable oral for me, all others just make me lethargic.
Molinin302Haven't started yet, (wanted to get through the holidays lol) but I've been making adjustments. Not because I've had problems, more so because I don't want problems. I used to really like Dianabol, but I just turned 45. Time for something different so I'm giving Anavar a go. I'll be sure to post results. In regards to his bloods, I'm surprised he mentioned diet. Triglycerides, everything is in check. He's doing things right. Certain elevations are to be expected. Keep it up Big C, youve got knowledge to share here.
BigCactusHaven't really noticed strenght gains from it but the way it makes you look is really nice. Just a nice fullness (not bloat) and round, I'd say a mild masteron prop but less "flat" I guess. And yes mast prop is already mild, so thats how smooth it is to run anavar.
Molinin302Thanks bro, it starts this week. Been on TRT only with low dose Mast. Going to ramp up the Mast to 300mg, NPP at 300mg, and up my test slightly. Var for 4-6 weeks. I'm starting high to preload, will probably lower the Mast and NPP to 200mg weekly each and keep the Test around 400mg. Definitely more than enough, but I'm on a mission for summer and my best shape ever at 45yo. (Just got home from the wholesale shopping, lets just say there's lots of chicken, rice, and veggies lol)

Molinin302Labs always get a + from me. I'd say these results are unremarkable, which is what you want. You're in pretty good shape buddy. Although your liver enzymes are slightly high, its within range of a holiday bender with some Tylenol thrown in there. There's also some consideration of liver protection lowering the efficacy of oral steroids. Not that we don't need to protect ourselves, but we also want the stuff to do its job. Its about finding that balance and it looks like you've done it. Nice job.

I have heard that Nolvadex could hinder your cycle by lowering IGF-1 levels, but never that too much liver protection could also do it.

Molinin302I never, ever, suggest against precautions. All I can say is certain substances can interfere with uptake and absorption. I'm not a physician, but as I said, your labs look good. Personally I wouldn't change much if anything at all. I still have labs from when I got divorced 12 years ago and drinking heavily, I should post that mess for reference lol
