"An accomplished Auburn University science professor is among those charged in federal court in Dallas in connection with an illegal steroid distribution ring, court records show.

Yonnie Wu was director of the Alabama college’s Mass Spectrometry Center in its chemistry and biochemistry department.

Prosecutors say he tested steroids from China and other sources in his university lab so the conspirators could market the drugs on websites that vouched for the purity and quality of the products."

Said they charged 75 per test. Sounds familiar, hope its not who was run off this board.

damn...they are busting everyone. not only the sources, but the guys that run mass specs every now and then on products. if they are desperate enough to snitch on a fucking mass spec guy running tests for less than the price of two bottles of long ester test...then they are willing to snitch on customers, and anyone else who has anything to do with this game period...they gonna start snitching on there own momma for keeping some stashed in her basement for them...smh...i think i speak for all of us when i say "IF YOU CANT DO THE TIME, DONT DO THE CRIME!!!!!" IF you get busted selling to a cop, OR get pulled over for tailight, or seatbelt and u have drugs on you, or just being plain lazy and careless with ur operation, then you got yourself busted...then u feel stupid, and kick urself and the head. cant blame nobody but yourself. but i hate to see when someone gets busted, because of other people snitching or setting them up. all yall sources know what risk you are taking by manufacturing and selling fucking steroids! if u not down to ride the calendar for a few years if shit goes down, then pack up ur beakers and vials, and save the real mother fuckers the trouble...ill be damned if i get busted cause of someone else...damn...sorry for the rant guys...tired of seeing this rippel effects cause by a snitch. look at how many other peoples lives he fucked up, and hurt, because hes scared to eat raman noodles, and i guess afraid of getting picked on or fucked or something...damn...if u scared to go to jail, u need to retire from selling drugs, cause its gonna happen oneday

I'm sure they don't snitch on their customers as much as the feds going thru their computers and getting everything. Furthermore, I'm sure there are plenty of cops on eroids already so I'm sure they're already selling to cops

That is why encryption should be used. but some do not want to put in the time to learn it. Im sure a lot of sources on here (im not saying everyone) but most are depending on a throw away laptop. You can destroy a laptop but that does not mean they can not retrieve data from it.

Now this gets interesting if Angus sent his testing to this director who seems to be a genius why would everyone bash in the testing done? Very curious to know why would the testing seem to be off when Wu seems highly educated and has the re sources. Hmm funny maybe Angus changed some stuff around before posting to favor a source? Maybe it was a graduate student F up? Idk but this is off topic but very interesting.

I think most of us believe there was some sort of falling out in the mix with the tester well before the bust happened. So that may explain why the later tests were bullshit. Also I think I remember questions about the method used for testing being flawed.

  • Labrat's picture

the test methodology was flawed. Mass spec or Hp/LC can be ACCURATE for quantifying only if a certified traceable reference standard is used. These standards are of a known purity and are purchased. To obtain them you must have an fda drug license or license for research and development. Without these reference standards the tests are not accurate. What you get is a percent area report which is quotient of the analyte peak(s) and sum total of all peaks . The problem is some of the impurities may not be volatile and hence pass right through the column.and the peak response alone cannot determine the % purity by weight.. it would only give you a qualitative rather than quanitative confirmation..i.e, it would identify the analyte being tested.. not tell you its percent purity.. without doing a quantitation curve with refernce samples... the % purity is an approximation. HPLC is the preferred test methodology for usp drugs in the pharmaceutical analytical lab.. Other methods such as UV/VIS , even a polarimeter can be used to accurately determine purity.

Guess this has been going on all summer http://www.plainsite.org/dockets/2m39pccun/texas-northern-district-court/usa-v-wu-et-al/

Good thing he's only looking at up to a year in jail. Sucks since he probably has family but better than what some of the others will get in this bust. Let's pray the judge has a good heart and if Wu has kids only gives him probation. http://www.theplainsman.com/article/2015/09/former-auburn-professor-charged-in-connection-to-steroid-distribution-ring-agrees-to-plead-guilty

Wu is the poor schmuck who got caught up in the game ... And apparently didn't make a dime off it ...

I bet with some effort he could've got access to raws for his research legitimately without having to deal with these guys ... Makes you wonder what the hell he was thinking.
