+ 2 The Past Is OVER

ad
PUBLIC POST - Accessible to everyone.

Whatever is done is over. It cannot be changed. But my attitude about it can be changed through talking with those who have gone before and with sponsors. I can wish the past never was, but if I change my actions in regard to what I have done, my attitude will change. I won't have to wish the past away. I can change my feelings and attitudes, but only through my actions and the help of my fellow alcoholics.

The past is history
Tomorrow is a mystery,
The only GIFT is the present.

We always want to be somewhere else besides in the moment. I can't wait till 3:30, I can't wait till the weekend, I can't wait till vacation, blah blah blah. The reason is because you can't sit alone with self& that's a scary place to be. Anyone wanna talk about it hmu

Thanks for your post Wes. I do not regret my past, nor do I wish to shut the door on it. Living the Steps today. I love my homegroup. It is 5 minutes from my home. One of my most loved homegroup members chose another homegroup. I'll be OK. I finished my 3 months as Chair. My topic was reading the 12 Steps in a row in the Basic text. I'm OK.
We got a new Chair. Its first week, berated us in an angry 20 minute monologue and stormed out. They don't live the Steps with 5 years continuous Clean time, and been coming to meeting for 15 years. Yesterday, they apologized to the group and resigned as Chair, but stayed for the meeting. We got a new Chair, who has like 70 days out of treatment/psyche ward. I love them too.
New Chairs chose to read a story in the BT, "The Only Narcotics Anonymous meeting in the Whole World." A long story about using and the horrors of addiction, but nothing about what happened when the writer "Bob" got clean.
I feel like meetings are about babysitting people with many psyche issues looking for an easier softer way. They are incapable of working Steps. They can not be completely honest. There are such unfortunates. I wonder if everyone who gets old in Recovery feels that way? They can stay Clean, but they can not find real Recovery? Thanks for reading this.
