When on the roller coaster of emotional turmoil, I remember that growth is often painful. My evolution in the A.A. program has taught me that I must experience the inner change, however painful, that eventually guides me from selfishness to selflessness. If I am to have serenity, I must STEP my way past emotional turmoil and its subsequent hangover, and be grateful for continuing spiritual progress.

Selflessness! My favorite word. Thanks Yukon. In active addiction I was abusive and neglectful to my loved ones. Many of whom are gone. Today, I look for ways to be kind and loving to my loved ones, people I encounter, and our community. I strive to do random acts of kindness, without receiving any praise or gratitude.
Today I will take my greatest challenge, and try to turn it into my greatest gift.
AirborneGruntIf only everyone can embrace your new philosophies. Keep it up brother, you are doing awesome!
Nice Yukon, its thru these moments that caused us much grief and heart ache that god allow us to go thru in recovery and show us just how much growth we obtain pyshical mentally and spiritually. Back in our addiction we avoided any and all pain at all costs. But in recovery we face it head on with the strength of the fellowship and unity

AirborneGruntWell said YukonJack. It sounds like you have overcame a lot but it’s only making you stronger everyday - passing your experience and your wisdom to this new generation is priceless, let’s hope they listen. I love “selfishness to selflessness.” If only people viewed life in that perspective. Cheers brother
