Yes I am recovery and have been I've been in a meeting everyday practicing self care since this event took place last Sunday the 21st!!! Just a warning to loved ones who might not think it's that bad!!! I have been begging my daughter to quit drinking this whole past year!!! Everything was pretty normal so to speak. My ex wife took up last Sunday morning and heard nothing out of my daughters room it was about 12:30 pm She unlocked the door to find my daughter laying on her back on the floor. Investigators are thinking an accidentally aspiration. PLEASE CHECK ON YOUR LOVED ONES!!!THIS DISEASE IS A BEAST!!!

The courage it took to just type this out is remarkable. My name is Brett. I’m new here. This is the first post I opened and I can’t believe the strength it actually took to type this all out. Make sure you stay strong through this time in your life. I will say a prayer for you bro. And your family. We’ve never met but you can take my word if you ever need anything even if it’s just an ear to listen, a phone to call for strength to stop yourself from doing anything, or just need some affirmations please don’t hesitate to reach out. Stay strong warrior god is watching and guiding and watching over her. She’s home now bro. And not struggling anymore. God has her.

I can't believe how that changes my pain. The pain doesn't go away, but it does get different. Living and loving is Recovery. You give me inspiration in your shares that I can stay clean today too, in spite of my pain. Thanks and Prayers!

So sorry to hear this! Your statement couldn't be truer. I lived in addiction for close to 15 years and lost many friends and family members along the way , somehow i am still here, i guess i was lucky to beat the odds! My heart goes out to you and the rest of the family! I hope you find some peace amongst the fire.

This is awful buddy, I am extremely saddened for your loss. We are simply powerless when the disease is inside somebody else's mind and body, all we can hope is that they will want to change in time.
