Detox before Diet !!!!

ad
Default - Use Group's defaults.

I can't begin to stress the importance of detoxing your body prior to beginning a diet. Particularly if you are going to start a diet that involves carb cycling kicked off by a no carb no sugars stretch of days.

We live in a society that adds many different toxins into the food chain and in particular to processed and restaurant foods. You say but Grrrl, when I go to the restaurant I make sure I eat high protein meals with veges for carbs and non of the special sauces that have all those hidden calories ... and Grrrl says.. unless the restaurant can show you that the steak just rolled in off the wagon and was cut fresh off the cow, your steak has been laced with preservatives and additives to make it tastier...

With that in mind and some of the mindless eating that we participate in, detoxing allows the body to clean itself of the impurties that build up over the course of eating processed foods. Most people have heard bad things about Ketosis, but the fact is that ketosis is a good thing ONLY when the body is functioning optimally and is NOT bogged down by impurities and toxins.

Time and time again people start low carb/no carb diets and they don't work. Or they become bloated. Chances are that there are a few things contributing to this. First not enough water intake, too much salt and or too LITTLE Salt and the failure to detox. .....

Give yourself the opportunity to optimize the body's fat burning abilities. Detox yourself every three to six months. It really does make a difference.

What exactly would a successful detox look like ? Something simple, easy and effective ? I really need to do it. I just want to do it right. In six weeks I'm going to do a very strict diet and cutting cycle for the first time n my life. Thanks

you can get a tea from the vitamin shop just ask them for the detox section and read the boxes.. it doesnt have to be anything crazy ,.. they usually go for 7 days or so ... sometimes 3 but those are usually the ones that tell you that you can't eat anything ... i have a tea that I drink every day or every third day ..

Detox? How do you detox?

Damnit sleepy, I thought grrl came back to admire my horny wit Biggrin
Go back & re-read her post...

Grrl if I'm wrong lmk... I'm not god.
I think The easiest way would be a total, nothing but water fast. But, I like an all natural fruit/juice & vegetable fast over the weekend.

You've really got to read labels, sleepy. Read between the lines. Be diligent. So Many products today, use catchwords such as all-natural, low-fat, gluten-free, or sugar-free. Organic chips are still chips. Imho, If you want to eat some chips, go right ahead, but default back2your diet afterward. It’s fine to indulge every once in awhile. But don’t convince yourself that eating cookies made from organic sugarcane is healthy.

I do it like this, brother.

I like to keep it simple. Personally.
This starts Friday, & goes at least through Sunday night.

Breakfast: Plenty of vitamin C, then your choice of natty fruit juices. Then I like a big glass of simply grapefruit juice, & a large Orange.

Make sure to drink 16oz ice cold purified water every 90min.

Dinner: Miso soup with some chopped Mediterranean sea vegetables (OR Japanese nori)
