I own 3 dogs the male pit is a pet was raised as a pet so he is just a normal pet dog he offers unconditional love to any who will scratch his belly throw his ball or give him treats. My two females however are for protection one is a 210lbs boerboel the other is a 105lbs Belgian shepherd European Doberman mix both could easily kill a fully grown man. Both my females have been trained be me and I have years of experience training and operating working dogs they have each spent dozens of hours at the local schutz club becoming what they are now. I trust them completely but there are rules with them like with anything dangerous for one you can't introduce them to new people or animals unless I am there and other common sense rules. You are right that retarded assholes buy dangerous breeds as a fashion statement then treat them like shit because they think a mean dog and a guard dog are the same thing it happens here in the US as well. Breed specific laws here are local like by the city look up the cause of the San Francisco Presa Canario ban there were dozens of things they could have regulated other then banning one Breed that would have addressed that issue more holistically as I could own a dogo argentino or either one of my females would be allowed there. Punishment for an entire Breed based on the behavior of a tiny percentage of abused animals is fucked up just put stupid people in jail for the mistreatment of the animals make it a harsh enough penalty it sets an example. I do agree that some level of regulation would be best but as with guns or other weapons some of the most vocal advocates for the regulation are unreasonable zealots who demand the weapons or dogs don't exist at all anymore regardless of anyone's ability to own them responsibly. For example you live in the UK where caring a pocket knive is illegal and I have heard some of you politicians and pundits says things like there is no non criminal reason to Cary a pocket knife that is utterly disingenuous bullshit.
