lower back pain

I've had a problem with my lower back for several years now training. I dont know when it all started but I know of atleast 4 times I've pulled muscles in my lower back. Today I'm like 7 weeks into this cycle or so and loving the results. Im aware not to lift accessively heavy weights and to focus on volume doing sets of 8 reps or more as muscle grows faster then connective tissue. Today I was doing leg presses and had just 14 plates in the machine a weight I can easily do for sets of 12 reps. Im on my last set and around the 8th rep on the bottom of the negative and just beginning to press up when my back gives and theres immediate pain. It feels similar to the previous pulls but more severe and instant. It just gave and the weight wasnted to come back down but I pressed it up anyway to get it off. Now It hurts to move or bend over in anyway even to put on my socks or shoes. I dont want to ruin my great cycle so far. What can i do now? Any thoughts or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Thank u for post new to this group was gonna post then seen yours jackarow i have similar issue its been 6months since the last time had back pain it was killing me I was doing squats & deadlifts plus stiff leg I thought if I do light then heavy high volume it would help strengthen my lower back indurance. I was probably stupid for doing it that way but couple days later back was super tight tried stretching didn't work so I took a few days off thought it was getting better pain kinda went to my cheeks and my shitter not mention I couldn't get it on cause of back. Lol so I went to doc I was nervous like a how in church on Sunday. I had to see urologist. He checked me oh buddy. He didn't even ask me my name b4 he took his fingers. U get the idea told me had inflammation. He gave me ibpr for pain got better but it took a while at the time I didn't know a lot bout estrogen levels maybe I was hitting it to hard. Lol but another person said that I could of been dehydrated. Sorry if I didn't explain well was just trying to let u know that had same problem. And kinda nervous that its happing again my backs been tight for couple of days now im hoping its nothing but been paying close attention now now going crazy with weight but I wanna do this new workout regimen my droid brother gave me without wussin out. Thank you for the response. This back issue has been doung better for me. Once I became healthy again I began doing liwer back extensions on back days and jyst really worked on strengthening mt lower back. Ive stayed away from the leg press machine aas well and just stuck with squats. My estro at the time was too low and that could slso have been a contributing factor. Good luck bro.

I have pulled lower back multiple times. When occurs and can't make it to a Chiro. I stretch it by laying on back on floor bring my knees to chest this give a good lower back stretch. Also a pulled muscle is 9 out of 10 a caused from lower in the body . Especially if your back needs adjusting. But try the stretching also look into to a foam roller been using mine for roughly two months and haven't need a adjustment yet knock on wood.

I completely understand what you are going through.

Unfortunately the leg press induces shearing force on your lower spine that can result in injury.

When you recover, ditch the leg press and substitute, deep full squats and front squats (arse to calves), and the various forms of deadlifts. These movements will strengthen your posterior chain and decrease probability of knee injury.

Cheeks too red and rosey to face the cannoball! Great username and I agree with polish. Maybe visit the chiro a few times a month or once a week?

haha Yes bro!! I ended up going to the doc and getting it checked out just to be sure there wasn't a tear. I've been to the chiro a few times in reguards to this similar injury and he would use the tens unit on it to stimulate recovery. I now have a personal one and used it this time and it has helped. I appreciate the feedback.

Ice,heat. Stretch before doing legs. Also do lower back extensions on back days. That will build your lower back up. Soon you will be able to use a 45lb plate when doing extensions. Try that ??

So ur saying this excerise will train your lower back to have more indurance right
